Got delivery ordered and it took one hour thirty mins and after all that order was wrong, felt sorry for delivery driver he was so sorry for mistakes, won’t be back

I have used the shish mahal on numerous occasions but have always been pretty disappointed with their curries, especially the takeaway ones, the food doesnt have much flavour and the cartons half full, something they should remedy as they arent the cheapest! The restaurant is nice however and has a lovely ambience, although again food not much flavour, the staff are nice enough buut I wouldnt go out my way to go here

Alright, so I have had to downgrade after some consistent disappointments from SM. Namely:
* asking for thali to be extra spicy and getting korma
* asking for thali to be not spicy — and getting spicy dishes
* potato in saag aloo again was raw as noted in my first review
Overall, there is still some excellent dishes (namely the king prawn purée has yet to be beaten), but not as excellent as I felt the first time around and the food has been more disappointing since then (all takeaway bar first meal). It was our number one Indian restaurant in the East Lothian area, but this mantle has now been stolen by another.

Very good Indian restaurant, which offers wide range of dishes, all freshly cooked and the staff are also very helpful and friendly too. Buffet is good value for money as well.

) then do visit Shish Mahal. The food is just incredible. The people who are fond of food would love this place because there are variety of mouthwatering dishes. The staff is also very good.

A truly superb Indian restaurant. The take-away/delivery food is first class but the real experience is in the restaurant. Wonderful food, from starters, through mains and including the breads etc. served by very friendly, amiable staff who couldn’t be more helpful and charming.
In particular, try their buffet night (Tuesday but check with restaurant) where you can try a variety of dished on an «eat as much as you can» basis.
