Pub in a lovely location. The staff are more often than not very friendly. Food is a great price, it’s very nice but still a bit average. Excellent pub for families, not so much a ‘drinkers’ pub.

Very very reasonable prices for food £3.59 for a large meal, just cant be beaten, the toilets have always been clean when I have been, but I always get there early, it does get busy and waiting in queue can be a bit depressing.

as above carvery £3−59 pay same for kids not the 20p less as you will lose out on portions of meat. very friendly staff eat as much as you want(only one portion of meat) in vegitables. bad points toilets«the gents» by car park door main entrance… they stink !!! the management won’t sort them out & can be a health hazzard (annerobic bacteria infections) been a problem on & off for last eight months when not smelling all is ok!

An attractive location with views across the River Dee to the Welsh Hills. Very easy to find, at the end of the parade with a moderately sized car park to the side of the restaurant. Inside it is decorated in a traditional pub style with quite heavy décor. The meal deal at the moment is the £3.50 carvery which doesn’t disappoint — gorgeous selection of meat including Ham, Beef and Turkey carved and served to you, and fresh crunchy veg take as much as you can eat! Better to go at lunch time to avoid the queues at the bar(to get your carvery ticket) This is also the best time to go to ensure you get one of the best tables looking out to the Dee. The rest of the menu is good pub food but at normal pub prices, if you’re not up for the carvery expect to pay £7-£10 for a main. For dessert a nice walk to the famous ‘Nicholl’s Ice Cream’ just up the parade does the trick!

My daughter and her friends love this place; the deal of a full roast dinner for only £3.50 is great. They can go at any time, day and evenings until 9pm, Monday to Saturday and all have a great meal that would normally cost a lot more. I personally have my reservations of a buffet style dinner, but she has always said the veg is very fresh and the meat is tasty. It is good for a fussy eater as you can choose more of what you like and less of what you don’t. The drinks are of an average price, but don’t be fooled when they ask you what size. A large coke is a PINT of coke and costs a fortune! Head off up to the Parkgate ice cream shops for dessert!

Good, cheap family pub with good views over Parkgate. Good car park so you sometimes find people will use it to park up for a walk even if not dining. Menu is the usual type you would expect from this type of place with the usual steak and ale pie, fish and chips, lasagne etc. Prices are good and so attractive to familys. Good kids menu too. Staff generally good and service fast. Best for a lunch time though

A cheap place to enjoy some dinner(£3.50 week days & Saturdays, £6.50 on Sundays). They follow the same format as Toby Carverys but with some different vegetables but it’s the same as ‘take as much as you like’. The food here is always good even though it is inexpensive. Desserts here however can cost more than the main so i suggest going outside and walking up and down the front of the Dee watching over the water to the Welsh hills. Great views and great food. Ice creams here are legendary in the area.
