Not for the faint hearted, Legends is theGoth/Rock/Alternative nightclub in Newcastle. Expect all kinds of characters from Cybers to Draculas! You’re also welcome if you don’t dress up too. This place has a great, friendly atmosphere. People tend to talk to each other in the back-room rather than each party keep to their own. The drinks are reasonably priced for a main club in a City centre. One of the features is dancing girls in cages, impressive for both male and female visitors. The music is generic Goth/Rock/Indie, some of it way too old to still be played in a club! But it’s all the favourites so it just makes for a great time. I recommend this club for most people, but don’t bother if you don’t like the alternative scene.

This is a well known club which has a following of regulars that you see time and again in here, it is split into two and the wall rises up at a certain time. Used to be very impressed with this years ago but everyone is used to it now. The music is great and there is a lower level with smaller dancefloor and bar downstairs with the larger area playing main rock and a small sitting area upstairs. The drinks arent too cheap the main problem is they have pushy toilet staff ready to spritz you with horrid scent for the few pound change they want you to shove in the bucket and toilet lollies yuck It does have a cloakroom so handy to shove your stuff in if your on an unexpected night out

popular ‘gothic’ club in Newcastle. I’ve been many times now and I do enjoy myself but it isn’t the best place about. The drinks can be a bit over priced but the atmosphere is always cool.

great club with great atmosphere, fridays and saturdays are pretty much the same but firdays are a lot cheaper and saturdays are busier. music is great and not repettative week after week unlike some similar clubs in town.

Hated it — and I have an open mind and a good wealth of experience when it comes to alt bars/clubs. Large, but often empty. The only day I would recommend going is a Saturday night. Tacky dance floor decorations(cages etc). Pervy bouncers.(Not just because I had a bad experience. literally every girl who walked in). Enough said. Good entertainment(fire eaters on stilts), however when I was there, one girl fell over doing this. The crowd is all regulars who’re familiar with each other — this actually isn’t a bad thing though, they were very friendly. Still, over-priced drinks and a if-you-don’t-fit-in-here-why-are-you-even-standing-here? edge to the place.

If you like generic rock/metal clubs then you’re in for a treat. Cheap alcopops but not so cheap spirits. Legends has it’s very own social clique and is quite friendly. Most people know everyone and the venue is pretty small itself. The club has two rooms. There’s the bunker which is considerably smaller than the main room. This is where smaller nights are held such as the new industrial EBM night, ‘Tech Noir’ and lesser known bands often play. Live(dead) cage dancers, scary, sweaty, half naked men mentally moshing and these days, obnoxious EMO kids can be found in the main room. The bouncers are reknowned for their intrusive searches and the club has a very clean atmosohere. The age group of people in this club is varied and people of all shapes and sizes dance here. Painted black.

This is one of the most popular clubs in the Newcastle students’ scene It is relatively small and split on two floors. On the top they tend to play cheesy r and b and they sometimes have offers on shots and various cocktails. Downstairs is only open on big nights and they normally play good tunes, mainly drum and bass. The nights put on in this club vary often, so check what’s on when you are planning on going
