A lovely coffee shop is a pleasant setting at the quieter end of Eldon Square, in Eldon Gardens. It is quite a light setting, as there is a glass roof, so it has a pleasant environment. The downside is, if you are sitting on the entrance side of the café, you will have passing shoppers staring at you while you have your snack, but otherwise, if you can get a seat further inside, nearer the windows, it is a lot more pleasant. There is a good choice of food — either sandwiches or snacks like cakes and biscuits and hot and cold drink choices. I thoroughly recommend the hot chocolate with cream on top, although the prices are a little more expensive than some other venues, it is probably about average for a city centre café.
