Not sure how I found myself in here many years ago to be honest(kingston-upon-thames branch). I’m.not a big model train, car or plane fan but if you are, I’m guessing this would be your version of heaven! There’s model-kits, pre-made models, tiny figurines… a lot of things! I’m not even quite sure what I was looking at half of the time… It’s actually quite good to have a look at the displays and admire the intricate artwork gone into the models. It’s sad the stores are no longer able to be found.

…but no building materials like balsa wood, r/c aircraft/boat accessories, etc. Okay if you just want to buy something pre-built out of a box, but not much use to a ‘build it yourself’ modeller. Staff don’t seem too knowledgable either — as an experienced r/c flyer I’ve had to intervene when they’ve tried to sell fast, high powered r/c planes to total beginners. Not good. I see the place more as a shop for ‘collectors’, not hobbyists. Good range of die-cast models though.

I love this shop and so does my 6 year old son, we walk in and he is amazed at how many different models there are on display, plenty of variety and a good range of prices. They have practically everything, from Life size star wars models to dinky little people for hornby model railways!
