As soon as you see the Tyne Bridge when your on the way home you know your nearly there, just the metro to go :)

Probably the definitive image of Newcastle, but oddly not so much Gateshead I mean it is half on that side of the river.
Emblematic, imposing, a pain to commute across on a bicycle. A real testament to all that’s good about Newcastle and Britain’s industrial heritage.

An iconic classic, which will be recognisable to all even those who have never been to newcastle. It’s proportions and curves just work so well together. My favorite part is on the newcastle side of the tyne, where it looks as if the bridge is balanced on top of the buildings. I love the fact that the new millenium pedestrian bridge appears to be a protégé of it’s bigger, smarter, and all round wonderful master. Superb Design.
