Don’t be expecting to turn blue the moment you step through the door… you’ll be fine!
Smurfs is a cute little fancy dress shop, which comes with a cute little sales assistant (well, it did when I was in). Having been told that I needed some legwarmers /​other associated fancy dress elements for a roller-​disco, I decided to call in and see what they had. Despite a fairly decent range for such a small shop, I wasn’t seeing any leg warmers. Plenty of wigs /​glasses /​random embarrassing outfits, but no leg warmers. Oh deary.
I was at this stage that the very pleasant sales assistant came bounding down the stairs. A little light bulb moment came to me at this point, and I asked if there was any other stock on the first floor. Nodding her head, my sister and I decided to check the room above out, only to discover it was pretty much a balloon /​hen party inventory, which was of course no use to me.
One final try, thought I. Heading back downstairs, I questioned the sales assistant about legwarmers, but her answer was sadly in the negative. Darn.
Despite my disappointment, Smurfs is only a small shop, so I realise they don’t stock the huge numbers of accessories that other fancy dress shops would. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for orange tights with black bats on though… seriously.
