Great choice of food and plenty of it (eat as much as you can buffet). Good value for money

Decent food at a very competitive price. If you’re very hungry but want something quick and easy then the Flaming Dragon is ideal but I wouldn’t recommend it you’re looking for somewhere with a bit of class.

I’ve been there once and the food was not good as other chinese buffet restaurant offer. Even the fruit salad is a can one.

Not a bad buffet. The food is fairly good quality though not as much choice as other buffets. The service is ok but they have a tendency to make you fell you have to hurry up.

I’ve only been here at lunchtime, so can’t comment on the more expensive evening deal. The food was ok, pretty much standard chinese buffet food. I was however impressed with the wide selection of additional condiments, sauces and dips available.
My main gripe about this place is the layout. The buffet is basically one long table up against a wall /​window. This means that a queue tends to form. What is the etiquette in such a situation? Is it ok to dip in and out of the queue if you only want to grab two or three things rather than move slowly along the line behind the guy who is taking forever to decide what to put on his plate? In terms of layout, May Sum on Parliament Street is ideal, where the food is set out on an ‘island’ that people can move freely around.
All in all, a cheap feed, but not my first choice in lunchtime chinese buffets, just a change now and again from my favourite.

Only been at lunchtimes, but fantastic service, great quality of food and if something has run out it will be refilled or replaced in mins!

As with any restaurant review it is perhaps important to start with the food element and for that I will go straight to my favourite dish in here: Fizzy cola bottles, with marsh mellows, jelly beans and topped with ice cream :-)
But before you get to the fantastic deserts (matter of opinion I guess) there is also some decent chinese food to be had first.
The format is a buffet style approach with the added bonus that waiting staff will occassionly visit your table offering additional tasters of other foods. For instance turning up with some freshly cooked meat on a skewer and slicing you off a slice if you decide you would like to try.
Prices are pretty good particularly, as with most, if you decide to venture out for food during the week. There is also the option to pay for a take-​away version, which from what I saw involved you purchasing the plastic container and then filling it with as much as you can!!!

I would not say they serve the best chinese food (which buffet style restaurant does?) but what is unique about this buffet that it does teppanyaki stir fries on request and they have sushi as well (these are for dinners only). On a weekend, dinner at night would be around £12 with a student discount. Massive selection of food here and overall I quite enjoyed my dining experience there.

I wasn’t really impressed with the food here, seemed like it had been sitting out for ages and it was a bit greasy. I came here for the buffet, which was reasonable at £5 plus a 10% Cornerhouse discount, so I suppose it is ok for the money. I just prefer more authentic Chinese food. Dessert was included, and there was a huge selection of fruits and ice cream. They also had a Teppenaki grill where you can get food cooked to order, so I’d recommend this over the buffet.

I’ve been on a quest to find a better chinese buffet and currently fail. Well prepared, generous food, massive choice, and if you go in for dinner theres teppanyiaki too! Besides they do a discount for students. THey do takeaway too at very reasonable prices.

Great value for money, loads to choose from whether you are a vegaterian or on a diet. They can cook food for you which you choose raw or you can help yourself to the range of dishes. Drinks are reasonable and you can order jugs of juice or cola for the kids. Can get busy and they are not very fast to let you pay.

For a buffet style chinese restaurant Flaming Dragon is excellent. The choice of dishes is extensive and everything is fresh and hot. The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed.
The price for eat as much as you like is around £15. The even have an area where you can choose raw ingredients and then have them prepare it fresh for you.
