Went with a couple of friends for an early midweek dinner and had an excellent time. Staff were really attentive(the fact that we arrived at 7.30 before it filled up may have helped), the food was interesting, well-presented and very tasty. Not cheap, but worth it.

We came here for a quick lunch, and had a soup and salad. Simple but beautifully presented. My soup was a parsnip soup with bacon, puréed with little pieces of bacon, which have the soup e perfect amount of salt. My salad with a green salad with a balsamic vinegarette. Service was very attentive and the bread was amazing! Actually, I ended up asking for extra bread because it was so good. You may need rezzies for dinner so be aware!

Probably one of the top three or so restaurants in Nottingham, I believe. I was steered here by someone a good deal wealthier than me once I failed to get into another nice eatery round the corner where a wedding party had taken over. So this was perfect for a Saturday lunch, quiet, cool, modern décor without gimmicky art, good food well-prepared and a nice glass or two of wine. If I come to Nottingham again, I’ll come here for a pre-match lunch(don’t be afraid, it’s not a haunt of sporty types so far as I could see, though a Premiership footballer could afford it). Prices were reasonable given the quality, though fortunately I cannot find the receipt.

Having been in Nottingham for some time, Harts has always been on the radar but the finances have been lacking! Finally we visited recently and were not dissapointed. Food was excellent, the good lady had scallops to start and they were probably the highlight especially the duck ham! My seared tuna starter was also a real gem. Mains were excellent and pretty substantial which was a nice surprise for a fine dining restaurant. We shared a soufflé to finish(always a good test of the skills) and it was very accomplished. All in all a very enjoyable experience and one that I intend to repeat!

The Food: A subpar attempt at continental style. Food was bland, uninteresting and overall disappointing. The Atmosphere: The only reason this place gets above 1 star is the atmosphere. Very inviting and elegant. The Service: New York brusqueness without the competence. My dry martini was made with an ounce of SWEET(yes sweet) vermouth and olives the size of raisins.

Hart’s is one of the best restaurants I have been to in Nottingham: both in times of service and quality of food. We went there shortly after Christmas in a big family group. The restaurant wasn’t super busy, but the ambiance was comfortable and despite the fact that we were probably much louder than any other table there it didn’t feel like we were disturbing the peace the way it sometimes does in nice restaurants. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. Our drinks orders were taken immediately and the service was attentive but not over-bearing. My brother’s girlfriend is vegetarian which usually means she has the option of only 1 or 2 dishes on the menu, but Hart’s had a separate vegetarian menu they brought for her which had about 10 dishes on it– again a sign of the excellent service. It sucks when vegetarians are treated like second-class citizens and Hart’s was quite the opposite. The food itself was excellent. I ordered the game terrine followed by the sea bream from the set menu(they had no problem with my mixing and matching, which is always nice). Both were delicious. I also tasted the mushroom fricassee starter which was great, and the venison for main course which was truly delicious. The only downside was that they had run out of 2 dishes — I assume because it was right after Christmas and they weren’t expecting a busy night. Definitely a disappointment, however, when we mentioned that we were really disappointed that there was no calve’s liver left because the person who had wanted it had never tried it before, they actually brought out a small taste of the dish for him to try — in addition to his main course and at no charge. Again, another sign of the excellent service. All in all, a great experience and if you want to have a nice dinner with great service, I can recommend no place more highly than Hart’s.

For me, Harts is by far the best restaurant in Nottingham. It’s not just the exceptional food and outstanding menu, the simple and tasteful décor and the polite and welcoming service, both at the reception and the table. The restaurant also has a very unique ambiance which is quietly sophisticated without any hint of pretension. It just has that extra special something that makes dining here a proper, memorable occasion which makes it a wonderful place to visit for birthdays and Christmas. You know you’ve been out to dinner when you’ve been to Harts.

Hart’s restaurant is one of the hot spots in Nottingham; this is idea for family meals or even catching up with old friends. The building itself is has a great entry and is well lit at night. Every time I have gone it seems to be busy and full. It is not overly big, it looks a lot biggest from the outside but it actual fact it only sits 80 people, if you catch it on an afternoon it seems a lot quieter but on weekends the atmosphere is great. They offer a great deal of meals both British and come great Pasta dishes. Its prices are quite reasonably and the staffs is very happy to cater for you
