Good food, delicious cocktails-​although it takes them ages to make them. Weekend nights late on it can be packed to the rafters. Toilets are in desperate need of attention.

The Approach is great for live music and sports events. I’ve watched a few football games on TV here and there’s always a good friendly atmosphere. Look out for the special sports evenings with former greats from the world of football, boxing and cricket as guests.

Great place that have a live band on a Saturday night. Decent priced beer and i’ve heard the food is good too. It seems more popular now than Walkabout across the street for football or a rugby game, I’ve come here with the lads a few times but its also a place you can bring the missus too. Overall a great night out and not too expensive

Don’t forget to enjoy the Sunday evening with best comedy club in the country, Just The Tonic, @ The Approach. The gig is on every Sunday. So check out their event calender first. It’s great for a date. They do student discount on that comedy night too.

Spent New Year’s Eve here last year and it was a fun, well-​organised comedy night, with a particularly excellent compere and three acts (one died horribly on stage, but that’s showbusiness) Lots of audience participation (and pillars to hide behind if you’d rather not) it’s a good airy place, nothing fancy, bit of grub too for the muchies.

The approach is a great bar for watching sport! the meals are quite nice too, and there are some band nights as well. I’ve only been in a few times, but its quite trendy

Was here to watch a rugby game recently. Decent screens all over the bar area, excellent range of beers on tap including real ale. They have live music and comedy nights and some good deals on food.
