The Lord Nelson

Excellent Sunday roasts. Great pizzas. Part of a chain of local pubs. Serves good local beers and has an extensive menu.

This is a quirky little hotel dating back to the 14^th centuary and the rooms are all themed. We stayed in the Fanny Nelson room which was a mixture of animal print and wrough iron fixtures including a very grand chair. The room was a reasonable size and the bathroom was adequate however it did not have a bath. Some bedlinen and towels were being aired on the stairs and landing which I found a little unusual for the guests to witness and there were a few odd instances however not quite faulty towers !!

I have to say i have only been here as a pub and restaurant, i have not used the hotel side of here.
This is a lovely country style pub restaurant, with a great atmosphere.
At the weekend of an evening it gets really lively for a small town pub.
They serve food here and have a restaurant at the rear. I have only been here for the sunday carvery, which has always been really nice, they usually have a selection of one poultry and two meets, plenty of potatoe and vegatables to choose from and appart from the meat its self service. As with the pub it does get very busy and is very popular for a sunday dinner so it bet to book.
They have a selection of specialist/​real beer and ale asually.
