Awesome food, lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff. Service can be a little patchy when it is very busy and the food is a little pricey but it is probably worth it. A large proportion of the food is locally sourced and the staff can tell you all about where it has come from. Very cosy and warm on a rainy Dartmoor Sunday! There is also a boutique-style shop where the owner displays and sells her shabby-chic goods many of which are also used to decorate the pub. Small outside area. Excellent local reputation. Very easily accessed as it is on the edge of the A386 but you wouldn’t know that once you are inside!

I have also been here to eat many times(from way back in 1972, on and off, up to quite recently!) It’s a nice place to have a meal and chat with friends and family as it’s never too noisy(little or no background music). Lots of good home cooking and a varied menu, with several vegetarian choices too. Near to Lydford Gorge so you can go for a walk afterwards if you can still stand up)

A classy place to eat that also has rooms. Restaurant is split into several smaller cosy areas. Consistently excellent food and good atmosphere. Close to Dartmoor and plenty of good walks. Good sized car park. Have been going there now for many years and have never been disappointed with the cooking which is to a very high standard. Staff are friendly and service is excellent even when the place gets busy. Highly recommended. Sunday lunch there is also top quality.
