I called in Argos on a recent trip up to Oldham, to pick up a game for a friend, with it being out of stock at my local Middleton branch. The store originally surprised me at first, as it did look closed, but I have now found out that is due to a problem with the shutters, and it is still pretty easy to get in and out of the store, with one of them open. This is quite a nice store in general, and inside it is pretty modern, unlike my local Middleton branch, with a nicer TV to inform you about the process of your«order» This Argos store seemed a little busy, but still it seemed that my visit was the calm before the storm, as it began to get very busy while I was ready to leave. The staff here don’t seem to great, and at the checkout he didn’t seem to provide me with the information I need, and /or with a friendly touch. My order taken around 5 minutes to be ready, and when I got it, I was surprised to get the wrong version of the game, I did want the«Standard» edition, but was given the«Limited» edition. I could spot this straight away, as she was bringing it, only after she had marked my receipt«received» and handed it over to me, I mentioned it to her, and her response I found to be rather rude and like it wasn’t her who made the mistake when it was. I found her to not even offer any help in sorting out this issue and /or explaining the difference between the standard and limited versions of the game. I was told just to go back and queue again. After queuing originally, and waiting for my game, when they have obviously picked up the wrong game, why can’t they do anything ?, why can’t they fix it there and then? Or at least be very friendly and not make me queue behind 5 people? I decided to leave it, but after spending £17.99 I expect my game to be right, and I probably might have to go back if it wasn’t okay. I would of at least prefered it if she did assure me the difference between the games, instead of just rushing me away and not offering any help at all, I really didn’t feel I should have to wait in line again, in quite a long queue and then wait for my item again, when simply it wasn’t my fault, hence with the main reason being the terrible service, I have to give this Argos store, just a single one star.
