Found Planetman by pure chance looking for a tidy up on my new beard and was impressed by the website and also reviews I’d read online. I’ve recently begun the process of growing my hair with dread falling on me when getting it cut at various places as the experience was always quite generic with a get you in get you out attitude with no advice given as to what would be a good cut, short back and sides seems to be all that was out there. So I called up to see if I could just turn up for a beard trim and was told that wouldn’t be a problem, on arriving the décor hit a chord with me as «grooming» has never been a natural thing to me Planetman made me feel like it was a place of belonging and when I was offed a beer(considering they knew I was only in for a £5 trim) you can imagine I had even more reasons to like the place and was hopeful that this could possibly be what I’ve been searching for as the staff seemed very professional but with real world people skills not up themselves looking down on people. After a short wait I took my seat and explained what I was looking to achieve, with little experience of hair grooming my babbling was actually listened to without me feeling like a complete bonehead, and after trimming my beard the stylist asked if I wanted my haircut, I explained my past experiences and was hesitant. He asked if he could show me a style he thought would look good on me and this was the cherry on the cake finally someone who understands I don’t know what would suit me and need guidance, ok I said and he went to work. After a little tidy up on the back because I really liked what he’d done I’m still maintaining the style he suggested with great feedback from friends and family. I really feel like I was helped in achieving my «look» Took around an hour all told which for me was great as I felt important and not just a customer, with guidance and ideas for how to keep up the«do». Can’t wait to go back and have some«me» time. Really gave me a boost of confidence and since my visit have felt like a new man! Thank you Planetman see you again soon!

I came here as a reccomendation for Unilocal and as my long search for a barbershop continued, I decided to come here after being impressed with their website and it looking pretty cool. They is parking close by to the store but I think it is double yellow lines so unless you have a disabled badge they will be trouble. The store amazes you when you come in, with a TV, plane seats and a spaceman, they often quote Neil Armstrong with a male grooming twist. I booked an appointment and had a short wait when I arrived due to the person I booked with, just going off to the shop for a prolonged period hence I had to go to another barber. They offer you biscuits as well as hot beverages, vimto, beer and water, being coeliac I just stuck with water. My drink took quite a long while to come, having been offered it as soon as I arrived, only getting it a good time later. My barber I feel talked too much about topics that were quite irritating, he often repeated himself and treated me like I was an uneducated infant for quite a while. I spoke to him about me liking Frank Sinatra, and another barber joined in and mentioned of his love for the singer and put a few of his songs on. I feel they are trying too hard here and can seem abit irritating and struggle on service, I feel if they narrow down abit and still put effort in it would be much better, they just try to hard and can’t put 110 percent into everything. My haircut took nearly an hour and was very long and after a while it got really frustrating as they were just messing around, trying to make it an experience. For £10, I espect a good haircut, I don’t care if it takes 20 seconds as long as I get a fantastic haircut, I admit I had a very good haircut but this experience was draining lasting so long, and costing £10, I feel a quicker haircut would please customers more and make more money for the business. Overall, they are trying to hard and lots of minor things really make a business which really does stand out, seem poor, the only good thing about the place was the original look and my haircut, which I feel deserves for it to be 2 stars but for everything else, especially it being so drawn out and costing a city centre price for somewhere a good mile away from the city centre of CHADDERTON and a few miles from the city centre of Oldham is really not worth it. Normally, I have my haircut every 6 weeks or so however I need a haircut again, just under a month after coming here which will add to my big cost of haircuts this month after paying £10 for a long, drawn out experience here, so I am quite disappointed with Niall spending so much time on my hair and simply, not doing my hair-cut to the best of his ability. I won’t be returning until the pricing is sorted out, they focus more on the minor things rather than trying so hard and can do the haircut quicker with better results. My search for a great barber shop continues…

Planet Man is a place for todays Metrosexual male. Its a Barbers but not as you know it. Gents Hair Styling Traditional Hairstyles Facial Hair Grooming Traditional Hot Towel Wet Shave Tanning Rooms Waxing The staff are very friendly and very skilled. On my visit i received a «Traditional Wet Shave» which was so relaxing to the point of nearly falling asleep. Would really recommend and as there is nothing like this(what i know of) in the Oldham area its a must for the Gentleman who likes to look after himself.
