My husband and I visited the Source Deli and were impressed with the vegan/organic stouts and alcohol on offer. We both had a two course vegetarian meal and were impressed with the quality of the meals. The only gripe I had was that whilst serving downstairs they do not use disposable gloves when dealing with fresh food as they handle monies. That is why I only give them 4 out of 5.

Very good food produced by 2 guys that care about quality. Café hidden away in a shop on Wheatsheaf walks which itself is off pedestrianised Burscough Street. Currently a lunch time special of £4 for a main meal — which is stupendous value. — Linguine with fresh mussels and prawns was as good as any I have had before. Can sometimes be a wait for food as it is mostly cooked from scratch. Definitely worth seeking out.

Situated close to Ormskirk’s main shopping area on Wheatsheaf Walk, this place actually has awards for being amazing, yum yum yum! Source Deli Kitchen has an inviting window-display with lots of good foodstuffs in hungry-consumer view. Although this place offers amazing breakfasts my favourite is the tapas selection. As a huge fan of olives this place does not disappoint! That, accompanied with houmous and crusty bread, and I’m in heaven. Prices are average considering the quality of the food and the service, which is excellent. The Deli also has a really relaxing atmosphere and a chatty vibe. One of my favourite haunts!

Source deli is superb; both the premises and the menu are classy and sophisticated. The shop, located in the heart of Ormskirk’s shopping centre on Wheatsheaf walk, is well appointed and very appealing. There is a dense breakfast menu served 8 – 11.30 all week(11 – 3 on Sundays) which offers everything from eggy bread to a full Lancashire breakfast with all the trimmings. The deli also serves a tapas selection priced at £3 a dish and incorporates a mix of Mediterranean food: Moroccan lamb kebabs, chorizo al vino, hummus and ciabatta; pastrami, Serrano ham, mozzarella, provolone all sorts of mouth-watering totally irresistible delights. Pricewise, I think it’s pretty reasonable for the quality of food, the standard of the service and the environs– Source is wonderfully appointed– a coffee/tea is £1.50, the homemade cakes are around £2 and the tapas are well worth the money. However the breakfast range is rather expensive, £3.50 for a bacon butty and £7 for the full breakfast, gorgeous though.

This deli/restaurant is simply the best around. The chef really cares about getting in locally produced produce but without putting it in the ‘aniversary/birthday only’ category. £6 for a main(£4 takeout)?? Bargainous! For the price of a McDonalds meal, you could have a gourmet, locally produced meal that you’d happily pay £15 in a gastropub for! I’ve heard the chip butties are awesome as well. Chef treats his dishes with respect and care and will not disappoint with his creations. The way this man treats belly pork makes pigs glad to die, and if Gordon Ramsay ever comes to Ormskirk he’ll break down and weep at what Matt can do to a piece of chicken. Go there, eat and be amazed. A word of warning — if you take a first date there, she’ll most likely marry you.
