After leaving bills I was still pretty hungry and saw this and since I heard reviews of it I decided to try it out. Before 5 they have a lunch menu and it’s cheaper but the burgers are smaller I was told, but I didn’t know I would be getting what I received. The wine is nice and they have different sizes so I got a medium. My burger finally came and although it was very good the patty was super tiny!!! I felt like I was eating bread the whole time. The patty as you see in the picture could be eaten in 3 bites. Good burger but needs to be bigger

Burgers are pretty good, but prices are a bit steep for what you get.

Great place I really recommend it! If we ever eat in town that’s where we’ll go not one bad thing on the menu!

This is always my first stop in Oxford. This chain serves really really good burgers, no matter where you are in the UK you can go there ensured to go out full and happy. My favorite is the Byron but i’m a classicist, you can go crazier on their other more exotic recipes. Each month of so they offer a different recipe, last time i went, it was an Italian one(which living in Italy, i tend to avoid in the UK). I also like the interior and general atmosphere, quite beautiful. Also the waiters are always super nice and efficient. The one thing i did not like at all: desserts. At least the brownie was no good at all. So enjoy these good, decent burgers, nice fries all over the UK with confidence, they will not disappoint you.

Great burger. Staff professional and friendly. I got the smokey. Great Byron sauce. My friend got the butternut squash salad. Great portion size. Love their industrial décor. Was not particularly impressed though by their Oreo milkshake.

For some reason, since I’ve been hanging out with my American colleagues lately, we end up at more American places. Which I’m okay with, if they were all a bit more like this. Simple, good food, but with some veg options too. A chain burger place that I wouldn’t have picked on my own, but I ended up being happy with it. The service was fairly good despite being in a group of six people. The décor is monochrome but entertaining. I was intrigued by the white walls covered in white shelves full of white dishes. They couldn’t possibly use all these, right? The consensus among our group was that no, they’re arranged too neatly and must be just for decoration. Then there are the little figurines of random animals hiding all over the place — shelves, lights, wherever. See how many you can find! For food, I got a salad that ended up being massive(oh right, American portions) and was amazingly tasty. I’m always pleasantly surprised when a veg option is good at a burger place, and they pulled it off! Everyone else seemed to enjoy their burgers, but it was insisted that the shakes were amazing. I wanted to try the banoffee dessert, but they were out, so I went for the Oreo milkshake. Yum! It was so huge, though, that I couldn’t finish it all. I think I’ve gotten too used to European portions.

As an American studying here at Oxford, I really needed a hamburger after a while. Well, ‘needed’ is perhaps too strong and specific a term. More like ‘wanted.’ And my want was well-met in Byron’s! We enjoyed the interior, the service, and the food itself! I myself ordered the Byron, which was well-prepared and quite tasty. The meat was excellent as we’re the bun, toppings, and side-Caesar. My girlfriend got a jalapeño burger, which was quite spicy indeed. Would definitely recommend Byron’s!

Byron«Proper Burgers» is what the sign says and it speaks the truth. A hearty, meaty grilled slab of yum on a bun. Very glad this chain came to Oxford though it is perhaps unwisely located right next to Gourmet Burger Kitchen. Interior is chequered ‘American diner’ done-up for a slightly more grown-up, glossy feel. Loved their meaty Byron burger with the perfect bacon and cheese combination. It was cooked bang on medium though perhaps needed a little more flavor in the sauce. The pickle on the side is a great compliment to what is overall a great burger. Definitely the best I’ve had in Oxford. Also, those corgette fries were perfectly fried and had just the right amount of artery warming crisp. Needed some salt and seasoning though. Skin-on potato fries were average; I prefer the shoe strings at Quod. Attentive staff and nice environment. I’ll come back for you, Chilli Burger… don’t you worry.

Presumably one of Byron’s newer outlets, I’ll admit that this is the first one I’ve visited, on a whim, mainly to get out of the cold and for an immediate refuel. The site, belying it’s rather narrow frontage, opens out at the back into a larger seating area, so don’t be put off if seats are not immediately obvious in the window. The tortilla chips, guac, and salsa we had whilst perusing the menu were a little«meh» Mrs. Eltigre opining that it was her sincere belief that the avocados for the guacamole were past their best. The chocolate milkshake I treated myself to was faultless sui generis the best I’ve encountered, rich and decadent, redolent of good quality dark chocolate. Eschewing the charms of fries for those of onion rings, we both went for the chili burger in part because of the gushing endorsement from our waitress– gorgeous and juicy, on a great bun, if anything I’d like it a bit spicier, but I appreciate not everyone’s quite as gung ho. The burger, not the waitress. The onion rings, incidentally, were more-ish, but a little greasy(fryer not hot enough). In sum, pretty much as you’d expect, but would do well to watch the details.
