This place is a sham! Frozen reheated food and no idea how to run a restaurant. Waitresses are really lovely nd hard working but this is the only positive. food is rubbish!

Disappointing food. A lot of it was reheated, not made fresh. Rice was good but not much of it. Chicken didn’t taste good — I didn’t finish it. Lentil soup didn’t have any identifiable lentils in it and was incredibly watery — cost £4. Set lunch cost £8 and I didn’t feel at all satisfied afterwards.

A lovely Lebanese café, serving up a tasty range of mezze, mains and wraps. The wraps menu is the takeaway menu, so you need to ask for it seperately to the normal menu, but you can eat-in with them too(probably the best value for money).

The Nour is one of the many cafs you can find in this part of Oxford, which is very popular with students. I was underwhelmed by the experience of lunch in this place. My Falafel were dry and uninspiring(far too perfect to be home made) and some of the other meze were just dull and lacking flavour, dishes that looked and tasted as if they had given up the will to please ages ago. You’d expect to be charged from £3 to just under £4 for each of these side dishes, so if you are sharing with another and have a couple of soft drinks you can easily get close to £20 for next to nothing. The drinks are the same as the food — a mint tea with the tiniest amount of mint leaves almost £2. I asked for a glass of water too and this came to the table lukewarm. The gents were very dark, dimly lit by the lowest wattage economy bulb you can buy, I almost felt like switching the mobile screen on to see where things were… The service was at least polite. All in all not exactly a place to rave about, but then this is a reflection of Oxford; much hype but scrape through the surface and there is little substance.

I dined here on a recent trip to Oxford. I was split between two dishes I wanted to try and was unsure of what dish to order so the waiter allowed me to try both by giving me half portions of each dish. So I ordered the Meshwi Mesakal(grilled chicken, lamb & kafta) and the Ferouj Nour(pan fried chicken Egyptian style). And I’m glad to say that both were quite delicious and highly recommended. To drink, I tried their yogurt drink with apple juice. The apple juice didn’t really make it more sweet but it thinned it out a little. So, the drink was not overly sweet and the consistency was more like a shake but not as thick. Give Café Nour a try if you ever find yourself in Oxford. The prices are reasonable and the service is great!
