Ate here on a Monday evening, which just happens to be half price wine night. Enjoyed the food and the wine. It’s worth checking the website and Twitter feed to find out what’s on. A very handy location for meeting up with people, with the rail station and the Frideswide Square bus stops close by.

Nice small and friendly. The drinks are good and the food is excellent. The bar staff are very polite and helpful which is unusual for a pub in Oxford. A great location for a last few drinks on a night out before heading back to the train station for the journey home. Oh and good coffee too.

My favourite espresso in Oxford. Good food, good drink, good people. I go to the Jam any time of day or night and always meet interesting people there. A welcome respite from Oxfords normal pubs, over priced bars and chain restaurants. Try it, you’ll love it.

This is a really funky place that far too few people know about. The restaurant does decent food at a good price and there’s a range of options depending on your taste, time and budget. I particularly recommend the caramalised onion and goats cheese tart — it’s great as a starter or just as a light lunch. You can get lunch here for £4-£10, ranging from baguettes to main courses. They have a good ‘rapid lunch’ deal for a fiver, where you get a baguette with salad, chips or soup(chips, chips, chips!). Dinner has similar starters but fancier main courses(£9-£16) and some swanky puddings. I actually prefer simple puddings that work, but they are impressive here: my favourite menu description in a long time: Orange and Amaretto parfait with a chocolate tweel. Just what is a chocolate tweel?! Sounds very exciting The service is good and the staff are friendly. The atmosphere isn’t quite as cosy as more traditional restaurants, but the contemporary chairs are worth a goggle.

This is a nice quiet little bar where a lot of people go to sit to do some work or read — it’s light and airy and often very quiet. It doubles up as an art gallery too. The drinks here a a bit pricey but there’s quite a good range. There’s a selection of beers to try. There’s also a good range of soft drinks, including a good coffee and hot chocolate. There’s a couple of separate rooms for functions and parties. The service is really friendly, go in and give it a try some time.
