As kfcs go this is not one of the best. It’s small, kind of grotty and the staff are not friendly and are more interested in chatting to co-workers than serving their customers. Apart from that service can be fast … occasionally … and when it is the food is what you expect from a fast food outlet. Cheap. Fast. And generally alright.

Ah you just can’t beat a KFC for a quick bite to eat can you? The staff are pretty helpful at this little branch down towards Debenhams although it’s a nightmare you queue as all the tourists just push in and pretend not to understand you when you tell them there is a queue! There are some tables upstairs which are usually pretty busy so good luck finding one. Bad point there are never ever any salt sachets upstairs so get some from the counter before you leave it

The basic idea: Fast food restaurant with chicken in breadcrumbs as speciality and an emphasis on family sharing. The good bits: — The chips — thicker than in McDonalds or Burger King — Popcorn chicken — I’ve no idea if this stuff has ever seen a chicken, but it’s pretty addictive and easy to eat. — The price — it’s actually more expensive than some fast food restaurants, but you can still get a filling meal for around £5. — Melted BLT toaster twister — a hot wrap for under £3 The bad bits: — Dubious ethics — rumours abound of cruelty to chickens. — The atmosphere inside — typical fast food restaurant with noise and grease. — The nutritional value — nobody’s expecting good things from fast food restaurants, but this is lagging in providing ‘healthy’ alternatives.
