Try the chicken liver!!! It’s pretty good!!! Apparently it’s something that you have to try while in London. It’s a bit pricy. But as a tourist I just wanted to try everything. So it was worth it. The server was extra nice. She got off shift half way through our meal but stayed to talk to us about where to go and must see sites. Which was extremely nice of her.

Full disclosure: I’m not totally sure this is the right Nando’s for me to be reviewing because 1) There are so many of them in the UK, 2) I ate here while on vacation and visiting the university town of Oxford, and 3) UK format for addresses really confuses me. Like what’s OX41JB really mean, is that a zip code except in license plate format? Sorry I’m being a real Yank here. My traveling friend and I got a whole chicken with the medium peri peri spice rub and also some veggies and rice as sides. The meal was super affordable and delicious, especially after an entire day walking around Oxford and getting lost. The chicken was fairly moist and the veggies were really great – can’t go wrong with super sour tomatoes. Service was efficient.

Why are there not 5 Nando’s on every corner??? Portuguese style food. Seriously, this is good stuff. Actually, its as good as it gets: grilled chicken, either bone in or boneless breast, with veggie options for sides or you can splurge a bit more and get the fino sides! The peri peri sauce is the thing that brings me back every time. Medium is fine, but dont be afraid to go hotter. It’s a vinegar based sauce but even the hottest is still flavorful and really accentuates the chicken. A side of haluomi cheese is always a great idea. Corn on the cob is grilled. Delicious. Chips(french fries) are always an option but dont be afraid to try the ratatouille or peas. The sides here are just as good as the main course. I wish there were more Nando’s in the U.S., but that gives me something to look forward to when I go to the U.K. or Australia(those are the only countries I have seen them in. I’m sure they exist other places).

Not a big chicken fan but when I feel like having quality chicken I visit nandos, only place in oxford with free refills on coke and other fizzy drinks I think. Very fast service, prices are ok, sauces are amazing and portions are very large but I guess that depends on what you’ve ordered.

What can I say. Only place in Europe that has FREE refills. Well aside from that lovely fact, the food was amazing. In the UK, hot sauce is a joke… so the extra spicy food was just right. The herbal/lemon sauce was amazing. OMG I miss this place so much. I only had it 3 times in my life, but there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t want it. They don’t sell ALL of the items that they have in the restaurant online so I really need to go to DC sometime to try it again. It was so amazing, really it was.

So my kinda cousin KC would not shut up about this place when I was still in the US — the guy even texted me when I arrived in the UK that I HADTOTRY Nando’s! So I finally decided to give it a go and I will admit, that it was pretty good! I had their signature dish — Peri-Peri chicken and some small sides. It wasn’t too bad! They also have set meals that you can order if you’re in a group — the more the merrier! I’ll definitely come back again when I need to satisfy my bbq chicken cravings :)

Aaaaah Nandos, Not traditional portugese food, but nonetheless has proved to be a good franchise delivering quality food. They do not have a huge diverse menu, but this is good, as they concentrate one what they do best. Have eaten at a variety of Nandos restaurants around London, and recently ate at the Cowley branch. Food was great, service was fast, however, there was quite an extensive queue to get your order in. Ive always beleived Nandos is great value for money, good portion sizing and great taste. Two up from me!

This is a nice branch of the Nandos chain– in a really handy location right on the Cowley Road. It is very nice inside– not massive but with plenty of seating. The staff are very friendly and the food is very good and pretty cheap. Of course the best thing about it is the range of thier own spicy peri peri sauces– you can even buy small bottles to take home with you if you are addicted like me! The one downside was that last time we went they had run out of red pepper hummus and chicken wings! It was not difficult to order different things from the menu, but it was a bit dissapointing not to have your first choice. Overall though this is a great quick and easy place to eat.

One of the better eateries on Cowley Road, Nando’s is always busy, a testament to the quality of food and the reasonable prices. There is a small amount of parking available — about 6 cars. There is some outdoor seating if its not raining or too cold. The menu is the same as Nando’s everywhere else, though the meat is Halal at this Nandos. The staff seem to have quite a high turnover, which means they are of variable quality but if you’re looking for some decent food for a reasonable price it’s an excellent choice.

Located on the corner of the Cowley Road and Temple Street, this is your typical Nandos — but with a few extras — first of all it’s on the coolest stretch of pubs, bars and restaurants in town — that is, our well loved multi-cultural Cowley Road. In addition, it is in a refurbished Victorian building, originally a pub, now a sympathetically restored Nandos. Just near my house, it’s fabulous for those nights you can’t be bothered to cook and a quick trip out to Nandos is perfect for watching your favourite movie. Or you can eat there. There is a lovely seating area, where you can eat your peri peri chicken and watch the passers by. Quick service. Standard Nandos nosh. You can’t go wrong!

I am actually one of the very few people in the world who are not a big bad chicken fan. I will put up with chicken because it is healthy, cheapish and easy — but i would not say i enjoy it. However, i like it when i cannot taste it — for instance in a vindaloo. That being, i had always avoided nando’s like the plague and thought it was about as useful as a solar powered torch for someone like me. But i was wrong. We went here for a friends birthday last month — and trust me at first i was less than amused. I actually considered eating a small meal before hand and just ordering pudding! anyway, i didnt want to miss out on her birthday so i went. Looking at the menu at first i was nervous — spit roast chicken, quater chicken, chicken a la chicken you get my point. Then i saw ‘Spicy Chicken’. And it said it was hot. Very hot. So i ordered it. If i was lucky, i wouldnt taste the chicken. Anyway, it arrived and it looked how it should — pleasant, but only as pleasant as a chicken can look. Then i tried it. Woweeee was it hot. and good. very good. and not just the spices. The actual chicken was good. It was moist(i HATE dry chicken — yuk) and cooked to perfection. The spices were great as well. I would actually go as far as to say it was the best chicken i had ever had. Would i eat there again? Yes. And by the looks of my friends and their clean plates, they would too.

This is a wonderful place to eat, suitable for romantic dates and family meals alike. The speciality is Portugese grilled Peri-Peri chicken which you can have at various levels of spiciness or just plain. It is very child friendly and the kids can be kept busy with free kiddie packs of table games and colouring pages. The price of the fizzy soft drinks make the meal price go up a lot but you can refill them as many times as you want so it might be a good idea to share if you are skint. Those who like the spicier foods are bound to want more to drink so it seems that beverages are a key revenue stream for this place. The food is delicious, and they do takeaways too. You can phone in your order — 1865203357 –to have it ready to pick up when you arrive. You can read more about the Nando’s dining ‘experience’ at
There is off-street parking but it is a bit tricky to maneuver the car into their rather carmped car park. There’s a new Nando’s near Gloucester Green — see my other review for more on that one.
