Huge delay(over 40mins) for food to get onto the table when only half of the tables in the restaurant is occupied.

Really tasty! First time having peri peri sauce chicken and it was amazing and addictively good! I would so come back. To avoid dry chicken I suggest getting chicken thighs or wings over the breast! Peri peri sauce is so good!

The wait to be seated can be quite long, but it is worth it! The food is great as with any other nandos. Definitely recommended.

Sometimes you have to wait for a table, even in the day time when you’d think it would be quiet, but once seated the menu is easy to navigate, ordering is quick and easy at the till and the food comes out really fast, usually 5 – 10 minutes after ordering. The food itself is perfect, I’d highly recommend this chain.

After walking all day in Oxford, we decided to hit up Nando’s. I never heard of it, but my sister said it was a must because she heard great things about it. Honestly, it’s like a classier version of Buffalo Wild Wings/KFC. You choose what chicken entrée you’d like and it comes with different heat levels. They have extra sauces in these huge glass bottles that you can use(which are actually good) because the chicken can lean on the dry side. We got the whole chicken meal and did half medium and half spicy. We also got a side of their seasoned fries and coleslaw, but the whole meal in and of itself was alright, nothing spectacular. If you’re ever in Oxford, eat somewhere else. They have a great, warm, welcoming staff, but I’m sure you can find something better here in Oxford. Cheers! :)

What’s there to say about nandos? It’s easy, it’s casual, it’s not too expensive and the food is passable. This branch gets particularly busy around certain times so be prepared to wait.

Piri piri chicken… i never knew you existed ever… i did not know you were a south african food item… i didnt even know south africa had a unique cuisine… i didnt know anything about african food had gone into europe. but damn this chicken is good. the extra spicy sauce had some good heat to it. i ordered the chicken breast fillet, and it was so moist and juicy. *** LIKES: yummmm moist chicken and piri piri sauce or whatever that is… DISLIKES: needs more portion size… but then again, im an american… we eat a lot more than you skinny folk. OVERALL: i wish they would bring this chain to the US.

Nando offered various degrees of spiciness for its chicken and chicken wings. It has nice selection of side dishes to go with chicken and you can pick your own sauce bottle for your chicken if you want additional flavor. The chicken wings that I have ordered were very tasty and tender. The ambiance was great as well. It was lively and had a lot of local students there. The price was also decent as well.

Nandos is without doubt the best chicken around — and oxford is no exception; great chicken, service and staff; highly recommended!

A Nando’s like any other, but that’s no bad thing — good spicy chicken and plenty of meal options, and bottomless soft drinks are a nice touch. One problem is the small number of tills at the counter; large queues inevitably develop.

Had to correct my previous entry… Nando’s is located close to the train station in Oxford, it’s a bit pricey when you’re working with US dollars, but is worth it if you’re starving — I’ve had nothing that I haven’t found delicious there. It’s similar to El Pollo Loco, but with a better taste and amazing selection of spicy sauces. Chips /Fries are great too and cheap, to save on cash get the chips and just try all their dipping sauces!

The popularity of this place puzzles me. It’s slightly-above-KFC-quality chicken masquerading as a proper restaurant. Last time I came here I spent just under ten quid on not much chicken in a pitta bread and some pretty dismal chips. Sure, chicken and spicy sauce is always pretty tasty, but for these prices it just isn’t worth it. I think I’d actually prefer to go to KFC. And you won’t hear me say THAT very often.

Was in a hurry as we were off to the theatre and they really pulled out the stops, the food is good and so is the atmosphere.

On a work trip to Oxford and had to eat somewhere and what a great choice! Delicious food, and a great system for getting it to you, and adding interesting sauces!

A good meal at a decent price. The grilled chicken is a change from KFC and other chicken places. Liked the piri piri sauce, would have loved it a bit hotter. Remember your table number before you get up to order! Had a new spanish guy take our order and he struggled a bit until we started speaking spanish and then all was ok.

godlove Nandos. Cheao, quick and reliable. Always gowith the wuss lemon chicken but the chips are yum and I love their coleslaw. Half chicken is loads of meat but ask for the breast portions. Free refills on soda and good value for money

Nando’ is decent. End of story. I love the chicken in pitta with some of the mild herb sauce. Chips are always delicious and hot and staff always friendly in this particular branch. I was lucky enough to work right opposite a Nando’s a couple years ago and we ate their every other day!

Nando’s can only be described as an international phenomenon, and this location does not disappoint. By «international phenomenon,» I mean this was a topic of conversation when I lived in California with 1) a girl who’d spent time in South Africa where it originated and 2) a guy from Israel where they have locations(2 different conversations). I have no idea how we started talking about it, considering the LACK of Nando’s in the states, but somehow it came up, and each one of us loved Nando’s. It goes without saying that Nando’s makes wonderful Portuguese Peri Peri chicken, and offers a unique dining experience that is… well, possibly too complicated, but fun and part of the allure. As for this particular location, the staff are generally friendly, and a few are exceptionally interesting(not sure if one of the more interesting ones is still there). I’m tempted to reveal the best table in the place, but will refrain from doing so lest everyone begins to ask to be seated there. The lighting made from Peri Peri sauce bottles is a wonderful touch at this location, but probably makes it hard to change the bulbs. Details to look for at any Nando’s: 1) sink where you can wash your hands. 2) bottles of different sauces for added flavour 3) the little marker they use to indicate that you’re sitting at the table(because after you’re seated, you’ll need to get up to order your food) 3) save room for the Pastel de Nata custard tarts… a very tasty Portuguese pudding. Natas backwards is Satan — need I say more?

Nando’s is a great student restaurant — cheap and tasty, generous portion sizes and food that’s spicy enough for dares between mates. It specialises in chicken dishes, with 4 main levels of spiciness. I find this great, as I’m a real wimp with spicy food. I’ve not yet eaten with anyone brave enough for the spiciest level. Although they specialise in chicken dishes, they also do some mean vegetarian options and some tempting looking salads(but not tempting enough for me!). What’s really handy is that you can order your main dish, like a portion of chicken, and then choose your side and how much you’d like. You can buy sides separately, but usually it’s cheapest to just upgrade your meal, whether that’s with one side portion, two, or a ‘posh’ one like their creamy mash. All this can usually be done for under £10. Drinks seem expensive, but you get free refills, and even with my non-spicy food I definitely needed them! It’s not a unique gourmet cuisine experience, but it’s good, affordable nosh and sometimes that’s all you want.

This is a newly opened Nando’s and is really lovely. It is conveniently located near the Gloucester Green bus station in the heart of central Oxford. There is a public coin-meter car park just across the street, but finding a parking space can be difficult at mealtimes. The food is delicious and the service is quick and efficient. The speciality is Portugese grilled peri-peri chicken available in a variety of levels of spicy hot flavour — or, if you’re less ambitious, then plain. If you prefer takeaway, you can place a phone order in advance to have it ready when you arrive. There is also another Nando’s in Cowley — see my other review for more about that one.
