I had the home made burger on a tiger bap with chunky chips and an eccentric side salad. Just what the doctor ordered, best burger I’ve had in ages. Not some anaemic pattie but a right beefy, tasty morsel and worthy of a big thumbs up. I’m stuffed and finally ready for the night ahead. Didn’t try the ales as I’m on business and driving. Look good though. I’d come back no problem and recommend it too.

No nouvelle cuisine here — generous wholesome value grub plus a good range of camra proud ales. I ate and drank here three nights on the trot while on holiday recently — no disappointments. A real traditional pub — and I agree — hope nobody spoils it.

You have got to visit this brilliant little pub down near the harbour. Spingo on draught, outside toilet, and owned by Jethro’s brother! They quite often have jam sessions, it’s a sort of pub where laid back people can suddenly break into song(old Cornish ones normally) and someone has a banjo to accompany them. A must in summer on Mazey Day!

Rustic pub in the true Cornish sense. Great ales, open fires and a hardworking set of locals. You’ll make friends here.

the bst pub in cornwall. No nonsense. Great beer(including Spingos). When they do food it is simple, generous and good(try their tiger baps). Pool table, live music, leather sofas, maritime charts on the walls, wood floors and lots of locals. Stinky urinals(traditional). This pub is a gem and should be Grade 1 listed before some arse turns it into a gastro-schlub.
