I had a feeling this was the kind of place I would end up on my travels through this area, a bar with a lot of local beers at reasonable prices. This British thing of ordering the food at the bar even though you are seated somewhere is different but my friends did end up ordering food here and they enjoyed it while I put my calories down the old fashion way. I tend not to think of this place as a pub but a casual eatery that serves lots of local beers, that would help me put this place into perspective with its wide open areas and modern layout, décor and furniture. The food selection didn’t seem to be from a pub either, asian food. Hmmm, not understanding this from a beer perspective here but whatever keeps the populace coming back. Most of the beers here were pretty good, I had quite a few that night so I can’t even remember really which ones I had so come and grab a pint or two or many.

The American in me really likes the place, my British colleagues in the back of my head would be telling me it is like an airport lounge, not a proper pub. Compared to a lot of the pubs I frequent, this one is quite large and open, but it is also a brewery. When you walk in, there are some couches against the wall, but the centre is just open, no tables, no chairs, just a lot of floor space. There is also a second floor that overlooks the floor space… and the bar. I wanted to try a couple of their brews, so I had a half pint of the Bishop’s Farewell… mostly because of the fantastic name. Didn’t enjoy it. On my second go, had a half pint of the Citra, still a lighter beer, but had a slight finish of citrus which was refreshing and helped curb the bitterness. Eventually there was some music in the background, but overall it was a nice place to get a drink.

Probably Peterborough’s best pub with great ales brewed in house, fine German Pilsner on draught, a small but sufficient range of European bottled beers and awesome Thai food. Really let down on today’s visit by the staff. I understand they have lives away from the brewery tap but I shouldn’t have to interrupt their pointless gossip to get served.

I love this place, you are totally taken aback by the sheer size upon entry. From the outside you would never believe such a cool place could exist in Peterborough. Staff are very friendly and the Thai food is out of this world. Very generous portions, which, depending where you sit, can be seen whipped up in the mezzanine kitchen. It arrives fresh, hot and tasting delicious — so go there hungry. Be it lunch or dinner there is no time pressure to eat up and get out unlike some local restaurants. Just enjoy and relax over your drinks, be they lovely strong coffee or a G&T. Amazing feature is to see the microbrewery behind glass, a good feeling to know that they brew their own beer too. Although a little out of the way from the main drag of the Centre, the feeling of being relaxed is definately worth the schlep. Right next to Queensgate carpark, so you can pop in for a coffee or a light snack after stressful shopping. Ordering starters only if you want a snack or two is no problem. They are happy to tailor your food if something you desire has spice and you don’t feel for it. Weekends can get busy and the atmoshpere completely changes from a quiet hideaway. Good value, and I will be taking everyone from London I know there above any other place first.

Probably the best pub in Peterborough. A great selection on Real Ales always on Tap and a really decent food menu too. Thoroughly suggest paying this place a visit.

This is one of my local local restaurants and I’ve been going there for years and have always found the food to be excellent — great food, great beer and a fantastic atmosphere.

Great building and spacious bar with their old brewing equipment on show. They lay on some good gigs and it’s a popular chilled-out place to be. I’ve eaten their Thai food a couple of times which is over– generous in portions but tasty and reasonably priced all the same. It’s nice when it’s not too busy but on weekends I like to hear what my friends are saying :-)

This has got to be one of my all time favourite pub /restaurant. The restarant is upstairs from the pub but it is all very open plan so it is not completely cut off from the friendly pub atmosphere. The Thai food is beautiful and very well priced and there is a great range of real ales and wines as well as the usual spirits etc. The staff are always very cheerful and attentive even though it can get very busy at the weekends especially. There is a constant buzzy atmosphere and for quite a while they have been campaigning to avoid being closed down or possibly relocated as part of the city centre redevelopment which if anything has increased their popularity as people rally round and fill out petitions. I really would reccommend The Brewery Tap to anyone and everyone!

Thai food and real ale — what a combination. The Brewery Tap has become bit of an institution in Peterborough, serving great Oakham Ales. Generally good, but all too frequently these days the service is poor bordering on surliness. The staff should try to help customers not make it hard for them to order food. A couple of times I have had to walk away from here unfed as I have been left hangining on waiting for over 30 mins for a food order to be fulfilled. When the food does arrive it is really good and reasonably priced. The beer, whilst not cheap is worth the price, in particlar I like White Dwarf. I like system of ordering at the bar and sitting upstairs on the mezzanine a great place to be for a spot of people spotting. Live musisc is also on some nights, which can be a good bad thing depending on your taste.

I have been to the Brewery Tap for a night out as well as for a meal and every time I can’t fault it. The thai food is very very good, and reasonably priced, the drinks are good value. Alot of people think the Brewery Tap is out the way of the other pubs but I think it is worth walking that extra distance. At night there is a good atmosphere and when I go out we normally start a night in here. If you want a meal it is also the place to go as you eat upstairs which is nice and out the way of all the other people. The toilets are clean and the staff are very helpful.

Live music, real ale, late licensed bar(1.30am on Fridays and Saturdays) and excquisite Thai food and you have a recipe for a popular venue. Locals love this place, as it offers a lively night out and one of the few bright spots in the city. Trendy, spacious and a real hub of activity.

best pub in peterborough for beers and atmosphere, a really good place to start the night on the town or stay all night before clubbing if you’re not into other chain pubs in the town. big sports screen. excellent very reasonable thai food. mixed ages everyone feels welcome. Nice talent on show(sorry shallow but true). Council planning to knock it down but rebuild somewhere else now due to customer outrage.

A real gem tucked away in Peterborough city centre. If you are looking for a good venue serving real ale in the city centre this has to be a stop for you. Friendly staff who know about what they’re serving and are happy to allow you to try the ales first(as every real ale pub should). It is currently under attack by Peterborough City Council whom would prefer too knock it down, build a faceless shopping mall and have us drink bland lagers in copycat bars and clubs. The thai food is reasonably priced and very tasty it can be a bit haphazard as and when you get your starters and mains! But on the whole makes for an enjoyable eating experience, although the tables can be a tad sticky in busier periods. If you are looking for a quieter, more refined Thai meal try the Brewery Taps sister on the otherside of Town: East at Charters.

This is a very well-kept pub, with a great atmosphere, fantastic thai food and a wide selection of real ales. I’d recommend this to anyone.
