A local pub/restaurant that is situated very close to the local Crematorium and as such hires out rooms suitable for wakes. Having attended two wake’s here in recent weeks of very different sizes I find The Gun to be well run, the usual selection of beers and wines, slightly overpriced for the locality, clean and tidy. If you are going to charge almost £7 per person for a cold figure buffet I would expect the quantities and quality of food to be high but it wasn’t. Sandwiches with low quality fillings, poor quality pork used in sausage rolls, overall not worth the money. I feel that they are taking advantage of people’s situation although I will say it is idealy placed for this type of event.
