We picked the Treasury as a convenient spot for a pre-theatre dinner and despite some initial reservations as we arrived to hear very loud music being played upstairs, we were very pleased with the decision. We’d called ahead to reserve a table for 6.15(for a 7.30 theatre show) and were quickly shown to our table by the greeter. Having reiterated that we were on a deadline, we ordered wine and then speed-read the menu for a swift order. My Ravioli and rocket dish was spot on, as were the two dishes selected by my parents, both from that day’s specials. The house white was reasonably good too. Overall, the bill for three mains and three large glasses of house white was just under £50, so that was a reasonable cost, especially given the speedy service and the conveniene of the location. Pretty good, all round.

Nice bar for after work drinks. Décor trendy and modern. Good meeting point.

Expensive and largely patronised by singles strutting their stuff. More WAGS than upmarket. Also a few middle-aged ladies surrounded by shopping bags resting their feet.

The Treasury is right in the centre of Plymouth & ideal for a pre-theatre meal. However… First impressions were good: high ceilings, nice décor, friendly environment. Starters(a pâté on brioche and a celery & blue cheese soup) were excellent. Mains were disappointing. My rissotto tasted slightly sour; the mushroom dish was skimpy to the extent that my wife was still hungry and asked for dessert. 20 minutes later, it hadn’t arrived and we had to get to the theatre, so she had to do without. It’s unlikely that we would go back, as there are plenty other restaurants around that make an effort to keep customers by serving good food in good time.

My wife and I often meet our clients in the Treasury. Good food, good service and a beautiful setting on the quieter side of Royal Parade. Powerful, fast free WIFI too Highly recommended David Ab Fab Web Design

Built into the high ceiling room of the old city treasury banking hall this place has a distinct feel but it is not a comfy or easy place to drink largely because of the poor selection of beers the very high prices of the drinks and the pretentious approach of the bar staff and a high proportion of the punters he seem to be here to be conspicuous and to pose. A sort of outer shell provincial chavvy WAGs place. I might meet some one here if they didn’t know their way around Plymouth but I would want to move on pretty quickly.

I love it in here. The surooundings are just lovely. The prices are a bit more expensive here but it is worth paying that bit more not to be surrounded by moronic idiots that just want to throw as much cheap beer down their necks as they can before the pass out. This is the place I always go when I want a chilled out relaxing catch up with friends.

This establishment is always clean, and the staff are friendly. However, the drinks are not cheap as this is a City Centre bar. Be warned!

i love this old building it is very atmospheric. during the day you can enjoy a nice meal in a busy but relaxing environmet, the food is very good but a little pricey if on a budget. the evenings, especially weekends are busy but controlled as there is outside security so the clientel are always kept in check.

A really beautiful bar right in the middle of town but far enough away from the rest of Plymouth’s pubs and bars to have a nice atmosphere. The food here is always of a high quality and the menu caters for all appetites and budgets. The large range of cocktails is excellent, particularly the champagne cocktails. The prices are a little high but definitely worth it. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed and the staff always do their utmost to ensure your experience is a good one! Perfect for a first date or a nice relaxed catch up with some friends.

A lovely bar in a really lovely setting. The bar is an old church, which gives it real character. It is really tastefully decorated and has really comfortable and new looking seating. They serve lovely food but it can be a little expensive. They also have a lovely cocktail menu, which fits with the bar as it looks very cocmopolitan, sex in the city style. They also hire out the upstairs, I have been there for a wedding show and it is an equally tastefully decorated room. During the evenings they have a DJ who is situated above the bar, but whilst other places can go a little crazy in the evenings this bar still feels like a nice night out.

Really lovely place, very relaxed and mellow, one of the best places in plymouth to relax, dine and chill out, without feeling intimidated from thugs or very young people. It is a place where young and older professionals come to dine and relax. The food here is gorgeous and the cocktails are well made and taste lovely! The prices are quite steep, but you do get what you pay for! I think the staff are brilliant here and they are always smiling and seem happy to be working there. I went recently here for a friends birthday and all us girls had a vip part and there was a piano playing and it was just really lovely. highly recommend. It is situated right by the church but the whole place in keeps with the church quite well.
