A truly great place for families. Superb zoo, loads of interesting things for the kids to do, stunning mazes and playpark(both indoor and outdoor). Completely worth buying the annual membership even if you are only planning to visit twice a year one-off entry fees are expensive. Totally worth it your kids WILL love it.

Drusillas is a fair drive out of Brighton — about half an hour, across some lovely flat countryside contrasting with the Downs surging up to the east. The zoo itself is pretty varied with all kinds of creepy crawlies, tarantulas, lizards and all manner of monkeys, langurs, meerkats(a fun little tunnel system allows you to stick your head through a Jetsons type space helmet and watch them up close). Also if you’re a parent there’s a fairly open play area with climbing frames so the kids get to live out their inner monkey. There’s a nice café too for refreshments. Recommended, better still — buy an annual ticket for multi visits.

Birds, insects, toothies, furballs, fluffbags, featherboxes, I don’t know them all but they’re great. Some of these animals in particular are hilarious. There are some monkey types that have bushy yet wispy moustache that leave them looking like an aged Japanese sensei. Drusillas is a lovely day trip to make. In the winter months some things are understandably closed-like the pool-but in the summer it’s a free reign. Milking cows, panning for gold and Dino digging all seem for kids but surely appeals to all.

This is one of the best places to take a group of kids(and immature adults like me) in Sussex. There’s hundreds of species of animals to look at including monkeys, bats and penguins but as they say here, animals are only half the attraction on offer. There’s a huge play area for the kids including huge climbing facilities and also a pretty impressive Thomas the Tank Engine ride. It gets really busy here in the summer so its definitely worth booking for large groups but at £11.30 for an off-peak ticket, its a lot cheaper than going to Thorpe Park.

Found this place, when looking for places to use my tesco deals ;o) Myself, husband and 3 kids went.(10,3&1yr) Had a blast! Kids thoroughly enjoyed it. When we first went in, we wandered around the animals(the animals in the zoo arent big animals –dont expect elephants and camels and things! alot of monkeys, otters, meercats etc) Throughout, we found little things to do — slides, trivias, animal olymics for kids to do little test. There were booklets available in the hall afte paying, you can take for free and fill in round the park. One is a stamping book, so you look out for the stampers. The other you write your results in(no pens supplied, might want to take a pencil or something). Our favourite bit was the play area. it was awesome. it was like every kids dream of a playground! loadsa of slides, bits to climb up and all over. banana swings, weird elastic trampolie thing, a running wheel(like for hamsters!) a sand pit, swings and all sorts ;o) There was also a play bit for little ones, prob 3 and under or so. after a spot of lunch(we only had chips, the meals are not cheap — probably what you’d pay at similar places — it does say you can bring a picnic, but only in the designated area. The only one i saw was literally by the carpark, and the flies were rife!) anyhoo, we the saw some more animals and had a walk round the farm bit. i would reccomend this place. We often struggle to find a plac to take the kids that a 10yr old AND a toddler will enjoy, this was a definate hit with both ;o) great day out OH i almost forgotthere is a little paddling pool too. I hadnt read about it beforehand so unfortunatley did bring cozzies or towels. But am giving you a heads up so you can ;o)

Drusillas Park is a wonderful place to take the kids, it has more than an hundred animal species in settings meant to be like their natural environment. Our favorites were the meerkats we could of watched them all day. There’s a good children’s play area and the food is reasonably priced in the café. Fully disabled access and one carer gets in free.
