I’m middle-aged and have feet. So I love Clarks. Not only do I have feet but I have feet that are nothing but trouble, flat, bunioned and with a broken but never quite fixed metatarsal. I pretend the metatarsal injury was a dramatic moment when I was playing football for Wales. In fact it was a nasty sauna accident. So, problem feet. Clarks shoes are the only ones I can wear without limping. Which in some ways is lucky because they are well made and not as boring as you’d think. Currently I’m sporting a beautiful pair of turquoise blue and in my cupboard are long red boots. Catch the 70% sale and it’s even cheap!

Most people who were school children in Britain during the last 50 years will remember being dragged along by the hand to have their feet measured and fitted careful to new school shoes at the end of every August. Clarks deliver a very good service, and employees know their stuff. There has to be a reason why Clarks is still going after all these years. And, of course, there is a very good one. They sell shoes of a superb quality. Admittedly you’re maybe not going to find all the most up to date fashions in a Clarks shop, but you will find simple, comfortable, classic styles which are likely to last you a lifetime. If you need shoes sensible shoes, then this will always be the place to go. This is a particularly good place to come if you have particularly wide, small, or generally a little bit weird, feet. So few high street shoe shops actually cater to these needs, it makes a pleasant and handy alternative.

Large out of town store located on a busy retail park meaning parking spaces can be limited at peak times. This store has a vast ammount of ever changing stock and theres always a new style to be had. Staff are very friendly here and helpful. Prices can be expensive but the quality is always high on their products. Till queues are usually quick.

Clarks equals shoes and the brand always reminds me of my childhood when Clarks shoes were a must to ensure that growing toes had plenty of room. This store has a far wider range of shoes than that. They stock men’s, women’s and children’s shoes. They are laid out on display units so that you can browse and see if your size is available. The staff are on hand if you need help. The best thing about this store is that it is on an out-of-town retail park so car parking is free and it is usually very easy to find a space
