Fabric World

My oldest and most favourite fabric shop. It’s actually attached to the fabric printing factory. In fact it used to be called Treforest Textile printers. Unprepossessing from the outside unless you are a fan of industrial architecture but once through the doors it’s glorious fabrics galore.
There are sections of dressmaking fabric, including patterns, lots and lots of upholstery fabric, strange fluorescent furry stuff for making strange fluorescent furry things (aliens?), sheer voiles for curtains and more more more!
In my time I’ve been here to buy things to refurbish furniture, make fancy dress for the kids and our latest purchase is the complete kit for stitching our own ball gown — Vivienne Westwood is looking to her laurels!

A decent sized store located on the industrial estate. It has a fairly decent stock but they will order anything in for you. Staff are helpful and friendly and can provide you with samples.

Fairly good range of fabrics available here. Staff are very helpful and will even give you samples to check they are correct before you buy!

Not the largest range available from a fabric store but staff are always willing to help you find the material or accessory you require. Prices are very good which is always a nice thing!
There is a large array of accessories to buy aswell as fabrics. These include buttons, ribbons, threads and patterns.

There’s not a huge selection of fabrics, but you’ll usually find something you like and it’s pretty cheap. There’s some really good deals here with off-​cuts, the staff are friendly and there’s some decent accessories — buttons etc.

Fairly good range of fabrics for all occasions. Staff are helpful and polite. Fabrics are reasonably priced. If they havn’t got what you want they will order it in for you.
