Food is good, love their mash and chicken wings, calzone is also good. I’ll never understand how those poor servers manage to walk all night with massive trays of food on their shoulders! Usually it’s fairly quiet when i go however the last time was so noisy, it was full of people partying and it did take a while to get our drinks not the food, just drinks, in fact we had starters before we had anything to drink. Servers are friendly, and it would’ve got full marks had I not had such a bad experience last time :(

It’s Bank Holiday Monday night, the servers all seem to be as young as can be hired. I’m sure they’re trying their hardest, but it’s not very good. After waiting over twenty minutes to place our order, the lassy tried to rush off before taking all the orders. Our drinks arived at the table only to be lifted from the tray by the rim! Had the food not been good then they’d have got no stars from me. Good eating /poor service!

When TGI is full up we tend to go over the road to frankie and Benny’s. The staff always welcome us when we arrive and there is usually a short wait for a table. We have found the staff to be rushed off their feet and sometimes you can sit and wait for ages for service or even your food. The food iteself is always hot and tastes nice which is good. The drinks I have found to be very expensive, especially their wines which puts me off buying them as I woud rather get it elsewhere. The menu is extensive and they have a nice touch in the toilets which teach you italian as you visit the powder room

This branch of Fanky and Benny’s is very LOUD. I think the best time to go in here is mid morning. It is nicely rigged out with pictures of American film stars and other American notables. It’s an American ‘diner’ unlike any diner in America I ever saw. The puddings are fabulous, in fact I often order two desserts instead of a main course. Ideal for families as they do highchairs and crayon packs for children, but I wouldn’t subject a young child to the decibels in here. One evening we met a friend at the bar, but I gave up on the conversation as I couldn’t hear a thing. If there are four of us at a table we end up relaying the conversation round the table, so I end up with the giggles about ten minutes late. It’s never my idea to go there, I don’t like shouting at my friends!
