Nothing better than a stroll in the park, walk the dog or just chill out! I live 2 minutes walk away, I go there to feed the ducks and watch the paddle boats… get me in one!.. i think not… There is live music there and festivals, the ice cream and drinks are very over priced which is a shame. It has a mini Ice rink and a play park for the kids. What more do you want for free…

Poole park is a great place to take your kiddies, theres a lake filled with hungry ducks and a lovely train to ride on. When I was small there was a zoo but that’s long gone now, it’s also nice to walk round to the quiet side of the lake and then on to the sea. Having said this, a man once jumped out of a bush and chased me through Poole park, I should have called the police but was worried what my Mum would say.

I would call myself a very regular user of Poole park as I have been walking my dog there for the last 7 years. I usually park alongside the copse or in the little car park where the old zoo used to be. It’s 2 hours free parking but i’ve never seen a warden in 7years. The train is great and I love to see the kids(big and small) using it. Christmas is a magical time wit the large purpose built grotto, the animals and the visit to santa. The storms of 87 changed the landscape of the park — any trees which seem to be laying on their sides now are the result of the hurricane. Ducks, swans and lots of Canada Geese for the children to feed.

Ultra small skating rink in the park. adjacent to the fun factory and the café mainly suitable for children and the inexperienced skater handy penguins on gliders for younger or nervous children to hold on to birthday parties are welcome although pre booking is essential. Some serious skating sessions are featured in the programme, and there is a shortage of skating rinks in the area. however its hard to see how any truly serious skating could take place in such a small area.

This is a great place for all the family. There is the lake with the lovely Mezza Luna restuarant overlooking it. Plenty of space for walking, feeding the ducks, enjoying the views and for the children the play parks. The only disadvantage is the road running through it but that does provide car parking in the park and for free for a limited time. There is a miniature railway for rides, ice skating and icecreams. The cycling track is popular for all srots of activities too. A lovely place.

Poole park has really improved over the years. It now has 2 playparks for children as well as a sand pit which is very near to a restraunt so parents can grab a drink and bite to eat, and they offer childrens meals there too. There is also a inside soft play area for young and older children There is also a boating lake which has a varitey of watersports on offer. There is also a inside ice skating rink, which again children can use whilst adults have a meal. what makes poole park is the location as its easily reached by car or bus or a short walk from the town centre, whats amazes me is the amount of things that are going on around the park, but it still has a traditional feel of a quiet park where you go to feed the ducks. Also at christmas they use the poole park train for the park santa which children ride on to reach santa, this train is also going through out the year, for a short ride round the park.

A wonderful place to reflect and slow down the pace of life for a while! A walk around the lake takes around 15 – 20 minutes and is a nice journey to break away from the stresses of modern life. On a nice day wou will see people operating their radio-controlled boats at the far side of the lake(full grown men playing with their toys!) whilst on the side nearest to the main entrance you will see ducks, Canada Geese and other birds hoping to be fed my the many passers by! At sunset, the colours on the lake are quite stunning. A really beautiful place to unwind — if the walk takes it out of you, head for the café for a recharging cup of tea! There is also a mini-golf section if you’ve got any energy left!
