Outspoken art Anarchist Howells has a past as colourful as his graffiti inspired paintings. He has been in trouble with the council over his billboard art, painted Manic Street Preachers album cover ‘Know your enemy’ and even faked his own death. His approach is refreshing in the small Welsh art scene.
Howells paintings are bold, fun, detailed, laboured, filled with layered acrylic outlines, shapes and drips, words and genitalia.
Unit 21 studio is open to the public for two days a week — Thursday and Friday afternoon 2 – 4. Check the art and meet the man. Call for more information.
