Got in from Belfast went and did some sightseeing and looked to Unilocal for some good grub. Asked about this place and all the people raved about how good it was. So glad we came and tried it. We got 12 oz. sirloin with crispies and garlic fries. Literally one of the best meals I have eaten in a long time. Great steak cool atmosphere and really friendly staff next door. Avoid the dinner rush if possible because it can get busy I hear. But even so it’s worth the wait. We for there around 530 or so and sat right away but heard it could be up to an hour. But there is a bar inside and connected to another where you can kill time. There is also a small room with a rippin coal fire that is a perfect cozy nook to keep warm or just to relax. Deff worth conning even if you are just driving anywhere near. You must eat here!!!

Unbedingt empfehlenswert!!!

Love this place! Some excellent pub grub with great service :) Always extremely busy so be prepared to wait. Also the space between the tables can be tiny so you feel like you are having dinner with the strangers beside you… but the food makes up for it all.

Always such good«craic«as they say! Reliably fun night out each time I go! The musicians they host are so incredibly talented! The upstairs venue is cozy and beautiful with roaring fire in the winter. The small plates are delicious if you’re hungry too!

First and foremost. If you want food at the Harbour. You’re going to need to arrive a lot earlier than you plan to eat as on a busy night you will likely have an hour-an hour and a half wait. You arrive, give your name and take a ticket. A flawed system if you ask me but if it’s works for them then so be it. The process seems to be; you get your ticket and head up to the bar for a drink or two before you’re called for your table. The upstairs bar is decorated in a really rustic manner. Very stripped back in style and quite cool in my opinion. There’s also comfy sofas all around the area so waiting for your meal can be done in comfort even if it is an hour or two. The bar snacks are fantastic. I tried the wings and garlic flatbread pizza. If you’re here. Try both. Like really, both. They’re amazing. Onto the main. Another gripe I have with the main restaurant is that you need to go up to order your own food and pay there and then, something I despise about restaurants. However given the great staff and lovely starters so far I’ll let it slip for now. One quick positive though, steaks are cheap!!! £16.00 for a TBONE? That’s for nothing. Food was fantastic. Can’t complain about it at all. Pepper sauce was fantastic. All in all this isn’t a bad spot at all. 4* thoroughly deserved. They’re missing the 5th due to long waiting times with no reservation option available. Also, I strongly dislike having to order my own food and pay for it before I’ve eaten it. Will be back though I’m sure.

We had a fairly lengthy wait for a table, but expected that, as the place was very busy and we had been told to expect a wait. We spent some time walking around the harbour, as it was a very comfortable evening, then grabbed a drink at the small pub located in the lower level of the bistro. Dinner was well worth the wait. Everything we ordered was fabulous. I had the Frito Misto, which was served in a red pepper cream sauce that was fantastic. The fish was fresh and overall the meal was outstanding. Portion sizes were quite good as well. The service set-up is traditional order-at-the bar, but the staff was very attentive even though the place was very busy. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed the meal until we got home. My wife had the Roasted Cod and had severe food provisioning, lasted 24 hours. The on call doctor told us to call the restaurant and inform them that there was a food provisioning incident. Very unapologetic manager, vdisappointed with the service overall especially the managers unapologetic reply. We will never order fish there again!

Mixed feelings about my experience here. On one hand the food was great and we both really enjoyed our meal. On the other hand waiting 45 minutes for bread and dips is annoying. Also being told they want the table back after an hour and a half is just downright rude. I’m not too keen in having to order my food at the bar as it cheapens the experience. especially mid meal and you need another drink. Great food, poor experience

A friend and I were visiting Portstewart in order to attend the evening reception of a wedding she was invited to(yes, I was the ‘date’) and we had some time to kill before heading to the reception — and we were hungry. I’d heard this place recommended before by some friends who live nearby in Coleraine, so we headed in to see if we could get a table. It was a buzzing place, with a really lively friendly atmosphere, and the staff got us a table after about a ten minute wait, which wasn’t bad considering it was so busy. We chinned off a bottle of wine and had the nicest meal — I had the Thai Green Chicken Curry(I can’t go past curry) and it came with freshly made poppadums which were lovely. The rice was sticky and perfectly cooked and the curry was made with very tender chicken. The service was excellent. I’m looking for an excuse to go back to here as soon as I can!

Another jewel in the Ramore crown, the Harbour Bar is the biggest venue in this little group as it extends over two floors. Downstairs is the bistro which continues the Ramore tradition of superb food and upstairs is the bar, which is open every night and has music and live bands at the weekend. I love the bar for a pre dinner drink, but find it too busy and noisy later on unless I’m out for a big night out. Oh, I almost forgot the snug bar at the front of the bistro which is a tourist attraction in itself. It’s a really traditional Irish bar, all original tiled floors and wooden stools with an open fire, even in the summer! The bar consists of lots of jam packed little wooden shelves which still manage to stock every drink you can think of. On a sunny day you can take your drink out to the benches outside and people watch beside the harbour. The food in the bistro is fabulous — lots of chicken, grilled meats and fish, all in fabulous sauces like soy and ginger cream and chorizo and red pepper cream which I would recommend with the grilled fillet of salmon and a side order of garlic and sour cream fries. More traditional eaters will enjoy the rump steak burgers complete with gherkins and tom sauce. For the fab quality of the food, prices are really good, with the steak being the most expensive at a not too scary £14. Side orders are extra at £3. Portions are venomous, even by my standards. Puddings are in the traditional Ramore style of stunning piles of fruit, cream and chocolate and will finish you off completely. At least you can take a walk around the harbour after your meal to work off about a millionth of the calories!

If I was asked to sum up the Harbour Bar-complex of restaurants I could do it in one word-consistancy. When you go there it‘s almost a guarantee that you will get your food promptly, it will be really good quality and very tasty. Another thing I like about the Harbour Bar is that they are always trying something new from the décor to the menu. If there is a negative to be said then it‘s the risk it has of becoming a victim of it‘s own success, all 5 of the restaurants(i think it‘s 5 at the last count) can get very busy especially in the summer. A wait of an hour or more is not unusual, so be careful if you go into the bar for a drink while you‘re waiting! All in all though the Harbour has an intersting menu, good food and is great value for money(my brother, who lives in London, can‘t resist the big steaks when he comes over, he can‘t belive the price).

Well for a cosy quiet drink by the fire the bar downstairs in perfect. Pints are around £2.80 so pretty average. Service is fantastic and you will soon get to know the staff as they are as friendly as they come. Upstairs is much more upbeat and can fit a capacity of around 400 people which they usually fill on any given saturday night. Its free in except on saturday when it will set you back £5 but in my opinion is well worth it. Music is of all ranges and requests are usually taken. Seating is extremely comfortable ranging from high benches to sofas.

We have ate in the Harbour Bar on numerous occassions and can not fault either the quality of food, the atmosphere or the price. Located beside Waterworld it provides an excellent location for a nice meal.

The Harbour Bar is ideal for a relaxing drink in the small oldy worldy bar or snug or a meal and night out. It’s always full of locals and during the summer months is hiving with holiday makers. It is situated right on the Harbour in Portrush. Parking is limited. The food served is excellent both in quality and quantity. Lunchtime menus are also excellent and service is quick if your time is limited. There is no need to book and they organise a very well run table waiting system, whereby they give you a number and you can go upstairs and have a drink while waiting for an available table. I think you can book for parties of over 10 people. The staff are all friendly and helpful. After your meal you can go into the bar/snug or go upstairs and boogy the night away at the weekends. The age group who frequent upstairs is usually over 21’s so us oldies don’t feel out of place!

Fantastic welcoming pub. Downstairs they have the ‘front bar’ which is a quiet little snug with an open fire. Its mostly occupied by the regulars or the older patrons. Upstairs is the main bar, with live bands at the weekends and large screen televisions for all the sports. There is also the harbur restaurant which offers the most amazing food for next to nothing. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the prices are reasonable. This pub is so well renowned and loved that American Golfers come over every year and will drink nowhere else in the town.
