This is my favourite bar in Preston by a mile. I have only praise for the excellent cocktails, fun indie rock n roll vibe and passion for good drinks. Excellent bar staff, sensible and friendly door staff plus a varied and we’ll thought out menu. If you like classic cocktails don’t be afraid to ask they will make you whatever you ask for and give you inspiration if you are struggling to choose.

Superb cocktails in a gorgeous bar with great music. We often bring friends from large cities to Kuckoo and they all love it. I have always found the bar staff and door staff friendly and I appreciate that their tough door policy is required in order to maintain the very friendly and safe atmosphere of the bar. Keep it up guys.

One of the best places to go for a drink in the middle of Preston. Friendly bar staff, better music than most and a generally pleasant clientele. But my goodness what a bunch of unhelpful, grunting neanderthals operate the doors. You can come in with smart trainers, you can’t come in with smart trainers. Come back with shoes on you still can’t come in your jeans are not smart enough. Your top is ok one time but then another time the lovely pleasant gentleman on the door somehow decides the same top is now laughably ‘a football shirt’ and you can’t come in with it on this week. Please please please get some better doorstaff who don’t make up lies to not let you in based upon what side of bed they happened to get out of that morning.

We love this place. ALL the staff are great. The prices are good. The music fantastic. Its a nice place to go without the riff raff or bits of kids that you can get in some of the Preston pubs. I go with my other half aswell as the girls. My niece loves this place too after telling her what a good atmosphere it is in there. Try it you night like it. If not then try somewhere else. Each to their own !!!

A pretty good modern bar with the emphasis on cocktails. The music they play attracts a slightly older crowd. Impressed.

Kuckoo is not bad as a place to have a cocktail and move on. Wouldnt wanna stay there too long as its a bit pricey. Never had any problems with the staff and the music is always good, having spotify open to allow requests is always a good idea. My only problem is the Doorman, horrible people to deal with, not friendly and not understanding of your view point and no consistency. One experience was that I could not enter due to having trainers on, i was meeting friends and they had already eneter 5 mins earlier with trainers on. I rang my friend who was inside and he approached the manager who he was an acquaintance of and asked him if he could let me in. The Doorman would still not allow me into the bar even tho the Manager asked him to let me in. The Doorman said ‘i run the door, you run the bar, he has got trainers on’. The bar manager also had trainers on and I could see a few people inside with trainers on also. I think it was because I had white trainers on and not easy to disguise to be honest. I was with a party of 1– 12 people who all had to leave the pub before we got a round in and moved to another pub, it was also my girlfriends favourate bar and it was her birthday too thanks guys

The Kuckoo bar opened relatively recently and used to be The Exchange pub which closed and it is certainly an improvement. A city like Preston is short of sophisticated cocktail bars especially now The Cocktail Factory is no loner open. I have only been in once and that was in November on a birthday night out-​it is uniquely designed but it is very dark to the point where we had to use the torch on our phones to read the menu but apart from that it is well designed. The cocktails we had were very good, well presented and reasonably priced especially compared to other bars that sell standard cocktails that aren’t that good but are no cheaper; good range of cocktails and seemed to be reasonable selection of bottled beers. I didn’t notice any rude staff and they were friendly enough however I hope it doesn’t go down the road of becoming above themselves and welcome all well behaved customers and take constructive criticism-there’s nothing worse than bars that have a ‘if you don’t like it get out’ attitude and they inevitably don’t do well so lets hope this stays a good bar!

If your gonna populate your staff room with students who have no interest in your business, but do have a crap attitude then the place is not worth my coin.
The fact there were 5 of us and we wanted different cocktails resulted in the barman moaning at us. he was simply more interested in continuing the conversation that he was having when we walked in.
Fair enough guys, you continue your conversation in future, I’ll take my custom else where

im from London and went to Preston for a friend Bday. I wasnt expecting to find a Bar like this up North. We all went there for 1 round and we end up staying for a few hours. The bar staffs are great, very friendly, which you do not find down south, cocktails are awesome and music and atmosphere is what you want for a good night out.

Went in with a group of friends as part of my birthday party, ordered a beer, before they could even order a cocktail cocky prat behind the bar provided customer service so bad we all left. cannot believe that somebody in what has been described in the manner they advertise themselves would be allowed to behave like this. i hope the bar fails and closes.
