Many times I have passed through Dalmeny Railway Station whilst almost paying no attention to it. So as I was in the surrounding area, I thought I would pay it a visit! Dalmeny, is the last station on the South side of the Forth before you head over the world famous railway bridge. It is a station which is quite busy in the mornings with commuters travelling into Edinburgh, however the volume of trains that actually stop at this station does not compare to Inverkeithing. The trains that mostly stop here are the ones which are on the Fife Circle Route. The station is staffed on a part time basis. The station itself is clean and presentable, with a blend of modern and Victorian features. The station buildings, like so many other neighbouring stations, are built in the Victorian mould, with the interior being the only part undergoing any modernisation. The station also has some landscaping features which are heavily influenced by the railway bridge and the surrounding area, making this station stand out from your normal boring, bland, characterless stations!
