The lesson here is to completely shop around. There are a bunch of mobile phone providers on the high street. Orange. Vodaphone. Even Virgin does mobiles. Carphone Warehouse. Phones 4 U. And I walked completely past Three. Mistake! They have some great values. For example, I went and bought a 1 GB a month dongle for the laptop so that I could surf on the train and suchlike. Orange charges £15 a month. I found out the day after that for the same £15 a month, Three gives you FIVE GB a month. Yes, five! Their signup process is also way easier than Orange, who wanted a bank statement or a utility bill to prove my address. Three does it with just a bank card.
