Absolute dinge hole with the most miserable staff (apart from the doormen)! The locals are ancient local yobs, the barmaids are unfriendly and lack a sense of humour and class, and as for the landlady a complete bitch with no personable skills who is only interested in flirting with the regular drunks. No atmosphere, needs a complete revamp and new management who know how to run a successful business.
To enjoy night out AVOID THE ABBOTT!

This pub is now under new management, with a new landlady trying to turn it around. There is a new security team now (Bauer Security) who are streets ahead of the old lot (Resolve). There has been trouble there in the past but now this appears to be an issue of the past.
Currently the licence only allows the pub to open until midnight but it is the managers intention to return to 2am closing once the pub has proven itself no longer a trouble spot. Saturday night is now live band night, which is proving popular. The venue is on the up, but this will take time.
