Sundown was a great day out for our family of four. Out eldest is nearly 3 and had a great time. He enjoyed the various playgrounds the most, along with the huge soft play area in the café. Some attractions had queues despite being a quiet day, I’m glad they were no longer.

Sundown is advertised as a under tens theme park which is pretty accurate and most under tens would have a wonderful time here if it wasn’t already home to a couple of thousands wasps. To be fair when you arrive and before you pay they have a sign up telling you about the wasps and how they are managing the problem, however you would have to be a cold hearted parent to take your children to place like this get them to the gates then turn around and go back home because of the possibility of some wasps. However the sign does fail to mention that the park has numerous fruit trees none of which are actually harvested and the fruit is also allowed to rot on the ground. Saying this the park does have some wonderful attractions but it is hard to enjoy many of them whilst being engulfed by wasps, to give you an idea of the extent of the problem they are even in the bins inside the café. I asked a member of staff how long they’ve had the wasp problem to which she replied oh its like this every summer. Honestly give this place a miss theres plenty of better places to go

Sundown Adventureland is basically a theme park for under 10s. It has a variety of themed areas through the park, such as storybook land, a model village with fire station, garage, a sandy cove, amongst many. It is pure fantasy, and entertains and delights both boys and girls. It has been open about 40 years, and i have many fond memories of my parents taking us there when we were kids. Children are able to go on a water ride, or train rides, and spend all day running around in and out of the little houses. There are a couple of cafes on site which get very busy, and honestly, the food isn’t that great. There is a new big indoor play area opening in February this year. We have been at varying times of the year. We’ve found the cafes are always very busy, so personally i prefer to go there when it is warm enough to take a picnic and sit outside. My 2 year old was entertained all day, and when we went with my nephews aged between 3 and 8, they all were equally entertained. There are fantastic outdoor and indoor playgrounds so there really is something for everyone.

This is a great place for younger children. I remember when this used to be Pets corner it now has lot’s of rides and indoor play area so if the weathers not so good you can sit inside. The outdoor sand area is great for the summer so kids can sit and play for hours. At christmas you can visit Santa amd it is turned into a winter wonderland.

I have been here a few times now and plan on another visit to see santa soon. Its relativly cheap to get in and the attractions aim at 1 to 7 year olds really. If you do get to visit santa your child will get a free gift and last year they weren’t the tat you would get off santa in shoppping centres
