Revolution

This branch is really lovely. I went on a Friday evening and it was nothing like the loud, busy city branch — very pleased. I even managed to get a table. I must say that their cocktails are not great, but I would come here again for a ‘non cocktail’ drink. Lovely views of the river and friendly service — perfect.

The service is superb! The minute we walked in it was top class. We ordered some food, the burritos pulled pork, halloumi wrap and pulled pork bum. All were so delicious. I love the décor of the entire establishment! Kudos!

Worst service I have ever experienced in my life. They had one server for at least 30 tables, then the only server started Bartending, never to be seen again. Won’t be going back ever. Horrible experience for my first time. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs! If I could rate them 0 I would.

Although I’m not much of a Revolution bar fan, this is once nice revolution bar.

It has two floors which are each very well themed /​decorated.
Only drawback is that it is a chain and has that inauthentic vibe (hence the lower rating).
Finally, it is very entertaining to watch the middle aged after-​work crowd adopt a «to hell with being posh, I’m getting drunk!» attitude.

Had a layover at Heathrow & someone suggested Richmond for dinner.
Walked down by river & stumbled in to Revolution. Didn’t know it was a chain until reading Unilocal.The location & view are outrageous & the food was very good. The service was great. Very friendly vibe.

Maannn this is one of the finnnneeee Revolution bar, I was so impressed from the outside its Wow! The fact that this bar has placed itself near the River Thames is like special to me.
I came here on a Saturday night and it was live, they had a dance floor in the middle to dance, they were playing mainstream pop dance.
I was here for a friends birthday, and while i was waiting for her and her friends the staff were just sooo friendly and asked me if i was okay and ask me if i wanted a drink. (I was waiting for the birthday crew for 45mins).
The upstairs bar had a Cuban vibe, the way the drinks were displayed behind the bar on both upstairs and the downstairs bar was awesome, You did feel you were in Cuba although Ive never been their. They also had music playing RnB etc. Its smaller then downstairs bar.
Because the drinks were in in a birthday package, i remember having shots that were strong, although the cocktails in a jug were a bit weak. My friend reserved a a table, plus the staff were awesome to her and us a whole which made the night great. We got our picture taken by the Revolutions bar photographer.
When I’m in Richmond again, I would love to go her again and have drinks near the Thames on a summer day. :)

I go to Vodka Revs about three times a month. The location of the bar is exceptionial, opens up to the riverside which looks amazing at night time. The drinks are colourful and taste nice too, not to also mention the woman. Sexy and sleek. Would defo be an ideal place if your single or if you want to have a good night with your friends or family

Been here several times have to admit the night life here is teaming, it is packed Friday and Saturday sometimes you can’t move. The age group is young 20s onwards up to maybe late 30s. you may get the odd 40−50yr old but this is for the younger ones. It has a great atmosphere the staff really nice, but because its a cocktail bar prices are a bit steep, except if you buy the pitchers of cocktails they are reasonable. So if your in the younger age group this place, is vibrant and always on the go this is a must to go to. For the older ones like me who would like to hear there partners talk and not strain over the noise i think i will try somewhere else.

I have become a regular here. Pick up a membership card and before you know it you too will be a regular.

Probably one of the best Rev’s going. That does not mean much though. It’s mainly the location that sells this place. It’s right on the river. Only problem is that a lot of undesirable’s tend to visit from surrounding areas at the weekend.
Best time to go either Monday nights or Sunday afternoons.

This branch of Vodka Revolution seems to have some great promotions, although strangely it doesn’t always honour them. I went to Monday Madness last night and whilst two of our group were given the two free shots promised, the others were told that the promotion wouldn’t be honoured as the promoter hadn’t signed the flyers. This isn’t unusual in this venue, around this time last year I went to a similar event promising free canapes but likewise once asked it turned out this promotion also wasn’t on.
Despite the gripe over the promotions, this isn’t actually a bad venue for enjoying a drink in Richmond. Cocktails are very reasonably priced and the bar offers stunning views out over the River Thames. However, it still has the feel of a chain bar and therefore isn’t as cosy as some of the bars located near to the river. It’s lack of identity means that it is often the go-​to-​bar for people celebrating anything from 40^th wedding anniversaries to 18^th birthday parties, which means that it can get a little cheesy later on in the evening.
However, if you love flavoured vodka then Vodka Revolution remains one of the best bars. The birthday cake and bakewell tart flavoured shots are like the bar, cheesy but fun, and that isn’t always a bad thing.

The great thing about Revolution is that all the people who like it go there, and not to The White Cross next door. The bad thing about Revolution is that every time somebody else gets made redundant from Gumtree we always argue about if we should have their leaving do there or in The White Cross. Yes, it’s bigger than The White Cross, but not in terms of the ale selection.

This is the first Revolution bar I’ve been to because it’s so close to my house. It’s part of the Vodka Revolution Bar chain and no other location in the chain can match this one.
It’s got prime position on the riverside in Richmond with stunning views of the embankment and Richmond bridge. Upstairs there’s a really light and airy space which is only open in peak times and has a large roof terrace with even more stunning views.
In contradiction to Zeta, I WOULD recommend coming here on a busy sunny evening or weekend. The grass terraces outside fill with people chilling out, chatting and drinking and when the tide comes in there’s bound to be some drunkard falling in the river to entertain you. Although busy, these sunny afternoons bring great atmosphere to top off the great location.
Oh yeah, and they’ve got free Wi-​Fi, which I’m using now.

Agree with Robin but avoid it on a sunny Sunday afternoon unless you want to jostle with thousands of others for a drink and bit of grass to sit by the river. Nice if you get in early and stake your territory but not really worth the hassle. Better off making the trip on a weekday afternoon.

Revolution bars have a few bars dotted around London and they all look great and seem to offer a great product. None of them can surely have the setting that this one does? — Nestling on the bank of the River Thames in Richmond is shares this space with a few other national brands and is in my opinion the best one here.
An absolutely stunning bar is the centre piece of this large and imposing building and it really works well. I was told that all food is now free range and they offer the normal sort of gastro food including burgers, sandwiches and plates to share.
Sunday is an event here with jazz and Sunday roast along with newspapers and drink of your choice.
A great venue on the summer and also a great place to meet a group of friends and be well looked after and comfortable. The best of the bunch on this stretch of need to be there riverside.

A lively bar right on the riverside which serves every flavour of vodka you can imagine. Queues can get a bit lengthly later in the evening as the bar operates a one-​in one-​out policy so timing is everything.

Revolution is a safe, after work drinks venue for large (ish) groups, young people looking to make some noise and dance, and teens with no where else to hang out.
It is new, shiny, pretty looking décor, however lacks a comfortable feel. The different floors have slightly different atmospheres, yet I didn’t feel at home in any of them. Drinks are reasonably priced but don’t expect any bargains.
The ground floor is more bar like (but the seats are kinda like an upmarket McDonalds), upstairs is more homely but often the preserve of private parties taking up a large space.
All in all, I prefer the White Cross for informal meetings.

Being a bit semantic here but can a chain branch out? I mean a railway can branch out, a tree clearly does nothing but. A chain seems less agreeable to branching, but hey that is exactly what the Revolution chain has done in Richmond. We have a new branch. And boy have they gone for it. I tried to ascertain from the waiter exactly how much they have spent on this shiny new branch but he wouldn’t let on. We had a sweep round the table and the average guess was around three quarters of a million, or a bar and a half if you work in the city. And a bar and a half is exactly what you have got. The bar itself is enormous and stretches down the river side of the restaurant, with row upon row of vodka bottles reflecting the autumn colours off the Thames below.
Being brand spanking new the staff are well manicured and very attentive. The lunch menu is imaginatively written with a helpful ‘low carb’ section, but most people i suspect will play it safe in the burger section. The food arrived promptly and courteously. I plumped for the chicken and avocado salad which was generous and easy to scoff down in the allotted hour long lunch break. My colleagues all went burger and chips and the chips were great chunky slabs of potato. In fact the size of the chips is probably the most memorable gastronomic aspect of the visit.
The vibe downstairs felt a bit like a resting nightclub. The music system is clearly designed for wall to wall Friday night action and was all woofers, super woofers and super super woofers. In fact all you could hear (and feel) was a loud oomph oomph oomph and no vocal track at all, or am I showing my age?
Otherwise we like the décor. The lights are glued on suspended spaghetti like bundles of deer antlers. Slightly juxtaposed by the cheeky chic urban furnishings but maybe a nod to the red deer up the road in Richmond Park.
Not bad for a chain then, great for large work functions (how I hate that word) but probably not a local in the true sense of the word. The White Cross is safe.
