I went to Studio K for a taster lesson of hip hop. The building was easy to find, right out of Richmond Station, however the studio itself was not very clearly labelled and, although we arrived only around 5 minutes before the class, the door was shut and there was no way for first time visitors to know what to do! We waited on the benches outside the room and eventually the door did open and we were welcomed in. The teacher was super friendly, and we were thrown in the deep end of a routine that was already part way through being learned from previous weeks. But it was still lots of fun! The studio itself is very narrow, but there are mirrors down one wall and as there were only 5 or 6 of us there was room for everyone — not sure how great it would be to be part of a busy class with no room to move! The membership options for Studio K are flexible and certainly seem great value for money, but now that I no longer work in Kew, Richmond is not an overly convenient area for me. My main love is also Swing Dancing so for now I will not be joining Studio K, but if you are interested in Hip Hop, Waacking, Tap, or Ballet classes and are within easy distance of the building I would recommend at least giving them a try — everyone can book one free taster class so what have you got to lose? :)
