A Gem of a choccy shop. Yummy.

We always thought Richmond was full of cloned high street shops. This little chocolate shop is a gem. Came across the brand in John Lewis Foodhall. But there is nothing like visiting the real thing. The selection was big, with plenty of interesting flavours, yuzu, matcha and even jaffa cakes! We walked over here from Kew Gardens for a cup of coffee and pudding. Richmond residents are very lucky.

My parents absolutely love William Curley chocolates. The orange segments covered in chocolate are divine.
I believe you can get a cooking lesson within this small chocolate shop and I have heard many good things about it.
Hidden down a cobbled street in Richmond, this chocolate shop has alot of charm. Very efficient staff.
Prices are a tad steep but very much worth it.

I love Wiliam Curley chocolates and their dessert tasting menu at £14 is lovely! Definitely head there and try the salted caramel anything!

William Curley’s is known for their chocolates (which I haven’t actually tried), but the shop is worth a visit just for the fine, beautifully-​presented pastries.
(I’d rate them 5 stars, except that I found their pistachio cookies almost inedible. But to each her own.)

What can I say? One of the best chocolatier I’ve ever tried. Inventive, rich, big on flavours. I just love this shop. The really cool thing is that they also do a little pastry, and some sweets. Just lovely :))) Each time we go to my parents, we will bring a box. The best gift you can offer when staying with someone. Trust me, they’ll invite you back very quickly ;)))
Also. Go for the brownie! It’s ABSOLUTELY heavenly. To die for. Miam!

William and his wife/​partner Suzue are purveyors of absolutely delightful chocolates. We returned to Americashire last year and envy all those who live in Richmond and know the warm comfort of a sweet and coffee in front of William’s shoppe.

Age old questions like ‘Which came first, the chicken or the egg?’ and ‘Is chocolate better than sex?’ rear their dull heads many boring times throughout a life… The simple answer to the first one is we’ll probably never know. And the answer to the second? Well it really depends on which sex and which chocolate doesn’t it. William Curley’s best is going to put up a fight is all I’m saying (he’s a chocolatier, in case you were wondering…).
But it goes deeper than just chocolate with him. This man (or his team of representatives?) know how to blend and layer and melt and fold and do all sorts of very interesting things with cream, sugar, cocoa and a wooden spoon… We’re not talking about a simple truffle here and there, we’re talking apricot pâté de fruit and wasabi ganache, earl grey tea and Toscano dark and milk chocolate, Kyoto green tea and dark chocolate cubes, sea salt caramels, thyme and Scottish heather honey parcels — and the 2008 award winner — Japanese black rice vinegar and dark chocolate ganache… Frankly it’s enough to make you gasp out loud…
And it’s not just the warm liquid this man knows he way around either, he’ll treat you to what I’m not exaggerating to be pastries as close to your g-​spot as is publicly decent. First off you have the visual stimulus, the delicate curls of chocolate and sumptuous, moist colour of a raspberry, or the perfect smooth dome of chocolate, the same shape as one of those champagne glasses based on you know whose you know what. Then you open your mouth and it’s… well… All very nice thank you. I’ll have what she’s having as long as she’s having a Milk Chocolate and Raspberry Entremet, Chocolate and Sea Salt Caramel Tart or a Chocolate and Orange Dome.
They do a hot chocolate to make you melt as well, but you want to be careful, at William Curleys it’s actually possible to get too much of a good thing. I’d recommend choosing the most opulent desert you can imagine and teaming it with something harmless like a peppermint tea.
The eat in options are a bit of a let down, this is more a take it home to someone you really love kinda place, but you can get your fix on the spot if you need to. Which I often do… William isn’t an easy man to walk past if you know what I mean — we have chemistry…

If you are not in the good books after a gift from here it’s probably all over.

Agree with the previous reviews. This little gem of a shop, tucked away just off the main high street, contains the best chocolate around.
My wife is one of those self-​proclaimed chocoholics who prefers the cheap sugar and fat concoctions, rather than high cocoa solid chocolate, so I didn’t really know if I should be shelling out the money for the posh stuff on offer. I spoke to the assistant behind the till about the predicament and she steered me towards the lighter chocolates.
The milk chocolate heart, studded with orange crisps, went down extremely well. Places like this remind you why it’s much more important to think about the quality of the stuff you buy — especially food — rather than the quantity you get for your cash.

I had the pleasure of visiting last weekend and have to agree with the 5 stars given here. I have lately become a chocoholic and really enjoyed every one of the chocolates I bought here.
Very more’ish if you can deal with more than one chocolate heaven.

Chocolatier, William Curley (his real name) has won many industry awards for his sumptuous creations. Amongst the silver award winners is a dark chocolate mint square, unlike any other mint chocolate you’ll ever have experienced. It has a deeply, intense, dark chocolate shell containing an extraordinary mint filling with a surprising (and stunning) savoury edge; you really experience the mint leaves here with no remote evidence of nasty, synthetic, sickly flavourings.
Many customers come-​in just to buy a single chocolate (including me) that delivers the most intense chocolate hit and satisfies the deepest chocolate craving. Staff are helpful and patient and if you want a sit-​down chocolate treat, there is one petite table where you can enjoy a hot chocolate and a super-​rich chocolate patisserie.
