Well, it took a while to get there through one-lane roads and getting delayed by random horses blocking the said one-lane road… But it was well worth it! We were staying in the area on a mini holiday in Three Legged Cross and wanted to find a country pub with a good pie.
Unfortunately, we didn’t find a pie, but everything everyone ordered was fantastic. Fish and chips, beef and bacon burger, lasagna, and bangers and mash were all very good. My burger was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The onion rings were also cooked perfectly. I would put this burger on my top 10 burgers (#1 outside the states!)
They also have their own onsite brewery. All in all a great meal and great country pub.

Tucked away brewery that has a nice garden patio for a quick pint after a walk or some seaside time. My friends ordered the pâté app which they seemed to be happy with. Lots of dogs and families there and swings!

This pub offers a good atmosphere good food and good beer in a great location. The menu is simple ‘pub grub’ but is well executed and really hits the spot after a walk across the new forest.
Be sure to book to be sure of a table as I’ve found it can get quite busy, especially on Sundays or bank holidays.

One word Steak! If you like your steak, this is the place to go. Its brought out to you still cooking on a platter and tastes amazing. The ploumans is also very nice and good value for money.
On Sunday it is swamped with bikers. However, I’ve never had any probs and everyone is there for a relaxed drink and good food in a nice location.

The Red Shoot Inn is nestled in the heart of the New Forest. It’s signposted well but you will feel like you are on a never ending journey the first time you try to find it.
There is a small car park attched to the pub but there will be ample space o the roads if the car park is full. The Red Shoot is a very traditional pub with low ceilings and makes you feel as though you are in the deep country. On a nice day I reccomend sitting outside in the well maintained garden. It’s a small area but with nice large table making it a great place for large parties.
We often stop for lunch on days out in the New Forest, and can highly reccomend the food. The prices are slightly expensive but you get large portions of home cooked food, and the quality is well worth the money you will pay. The service is always with a smile which makes it a nice end to the day out.
