Blanchfields Pub

Now called The Horse and Groom this pub is situated on the main road from Rochford to Southend Airport between the fire station and the garden centre. A bus stop is a few yards from the pub and the train station is about 5 minutes walk. The car park is at the side of the pub next to the garden seating. It also has a small restaurant at the rear and a separate function room across the yard. A real ale pub with 6 different beers on tap at any one time. Cider, a couple of continental beers and lagers are also available. A board outside tells you what real ales are currently available whilst a blackboard inside tells you what is on the way. Food is served at lunchtimes and a couple of evenings. Usual pub grub, well prepared and reasonably priced. If you enjoy real ale this pub is worth a visit.

This pub changed hands recently and has reverted back to its traditional title of The Horse and Groom. It is on the busy route from Southend to Rochford. Has its own car park at rear and on bus route. Opposite popular lake which fishermen frequent. Famous for its real ales. Restaurant offers good selection of freshly cooked food. Always a board out the front advertising forthcoming special theme evenings.
