I came across this lovely pub in Romiley on Saturday for my boyfriends family party. It’s right next to the train station so very convenient for us non car owners! First bit of sun in 2013 came out, so we made the use of the outdoor seating area. Loved the décor inside — especially the chandelier made out of wine glasses and upside down bottles of wine hanging from the top of the bar.
The staff were friendly and the food was amazing. They put on a buffet and I was pleasantly surprised to not receive the usual pork pie, sausage roll, scotch egg spread. The buffet consists of perfectly cooked beef, honey roasted gammon, roast potatoes and all the extras. I would definitely go back for a sit down meal!
Verdict: If you are after a traditional English pub, I would definitely recommend Platform-​One in Romiley.
