Really welcoming. Great food. A little bit expensive, but worth it! Interior is rustic. Good for an afternoon meet up or a dinner out.

This place is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main high street so doesn’t get much of the foot traffic that other places around the corner would get; not that it needs it. Based on the number of people eating there, Paprika has clearly built a strong reputation since it opened last year. The selective seasonal lunch menu offered something for all palettes. I could have eaten any of the starters but opted for asparagus with poached egg and Parmesan. The food melted in your mouth, the egg yolk wonderfully runny, with buttery asparagus. The main courses were equally delicious, steak & chips, seafood tagliatelle. Fish seems to feature quite a bit, but there are still options for non-fish eaters and vegetarians. I’ve been informed that they’re currently in the process of applying for their drinks licence, so don’t currently serve alcohol or open in the evenings. I look forward to seeing this go through to enjoy an evening meal there.

This is a new venture with the same name as the previous restaurant but a very different undertaking from the previous ‘greasy spoon’ Aivaras and Elizabeth have attempted a Parisian Bistro style with an eclectic mix of furniture old and new and funky booths all lit with some rather elegant chandeliers. But enough of the décor, what I came in here for was breakfast, I can never get past eggs Benedict on a menu and how happy was I to be greeted by two beautifully cooked poached eggs on wonderfully fresh and crisply toasted muffins, some beautifully ham and a light and exceptionally tasty hollandaise. I’ve not had better eggs Benedict in Mayfair at twice the price. This all came with a fantastic pot of fresh leaf tea. It’s a new venture and still getting off the ground but I wish them every success, the food is great and I will be back I suspect, often!
