Fancied a curry last night and couldnt be bothered cooking. Decided to order a takeaway and looked at menus I had. Never used any of them! Decided to order online using JustEat — process was easy/ The order was delivered at the estimated time of arrival. However, instead of using the instructions I included to access the apartment block, I had to go down myself. To be fair I suggested it when he called as it was easier for him. The food: I ordered the set menu for 1 — which was a lot(saved some for another day). Curry was OK — a fair amount of chicken. It was very red though. Side dish I had Saag Aloo — never had before. Tasted just of potatoes really — the«mashed» spinach didnt taste of much. You cant really go wrong with rice and it was fine. Naan bread was burnt so that wasnt good. The Poppadoms — one of them was nice and crispy, the other was a bit soft :(Mango Chutney was the best bit. I paid for an extra — red onions. Cant really go wrong with this. Didnt charge for the red onions :) Finally the onion bhajis — not very nice at all. Bit rubbery. If I could give 2.5 stars I would. Some bits where alright but you always remember the bad parts.

Salford Spicy House is a decent little Indian, kebab, burger and pizza take-away in Salford. They also deliver anywhere as far as Deansgate. So whether for a pizza or curry with your film and a night in or to satisfy your late night pizza, burger and kebab needs after a beer in Salford, Spicy House is up to the job. Usually these conglomerations of take-away food suggest a poor quality of whatever you choose to have, but its not the case here. The pizzas are good, well perhaps not good but fine, and are relatively cheap, starting at £3 for a 9 inch and rising to £9 for a 16 inch fit to feed the family option. There’s an ominous pizza lingering at the bottom of the menu called ‘Salford Spice Special: A Bit of Everything’, which I’ve never had the courage to try. As for the curries, I’ve only tried them once and I was pleasantly surprised. They do a nice little deal, which is perfect for lunchtimes, whereby some of the curries are available in half portions, for only £2. However, the £5−6 full mains are probably more of a bargain, as they also include either pilau rice or naan. They also do all the little sauces from mango, lime, mint, chilli, red onion and coleslaw, so you can enjoy the full unadulterated poppadom experience. One cheeky /funny trait of Spicy House is that they distribute two different menus, one claiming it’s a speciality pizza place and one saying it’s a curry house. Very cheeky, but they get away with it be providing high enough quality in both areas.
