What to say…
Uni Snips is a one-​man show orchestrated by the charismatic and talkative Ian. In his heyday he cut the hair of the stars, the likes of George Best and Denis law, however nowadays he prefers the slower pace the is synonymous with university life… the much… slower pace…
During my first visit to Ian’s, my hair half cut, he asked me: ‘mind taking a seat over there for 15 fella? My one o’clock will be arriving in a minute’.
What can you do with half a haircut but oblige so that’s what I did and having seen to his one o’clock I was soon back in the chair and he finished the job. Total time 1hr 15mins.
Why 4 stars do you cry? Well for what Ian lacks in professionalism he has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to character; there are no awkward silences with this guy. He will talk at length (with you or at you) on anything from; Football and Rugby, Uni gossip and relationship, Sinatra to ACDC.
A haircut is only half the deal at Ian’s and the value for money comes the entertainment factor however if you’re the sort of person who lives life in the fast lane Uni Snips might not be the place for you… but give him a try… at least once!
