I eat here with my family, a lovely traditional English pub with great food. We had an evening meal and I went for the sausage and mash, really good portion sizes and the sausages were amazing. You could taste the quality, served with mash and a nice thick, onion gravy. My parents had the duck and were equally impressed with there food. A meal for all 3 of us with drinks came to £50 including tip so very good value for money too! Lovely service and a warm Christmas welcome from Nick, the pub landlord. Would definitely give this a try if you’re nearby.

A friend and I, rather nerdishly, made somewhat of a pilgrimage to this remote little pub in early November 2012(We saw it Jonathan Creek and just thought it looked like a nice place really!). We had just missed the lunch service but were made to feel extraordinarily welcome by Nick, the landlord, and were in no way treated like outsiders because it is very much a classic chocolate box village local and we’d come eighty miles from Cambridge to this sleepy Suffolk village. We were even given bar snacks on the house to make up(somewhat) for our disappointment at just missing lunch. But because we were treated so nicely this really was no problem at all. Great atmosphere, beautiful location. Will have to visit again to sample the food! Phone in advance, it gets booked up quickly.
