Chapeltown Swimming Pool

Chapeltown Swimming Pool is a great little place which has a big effect on the town! It is a small building and consists of a gym, swimming pool, and changing rooms. The staff are very polite and as soon as you walk in the atmosphere hits you and it is like a dream. The swimming pool is temperature controlled and the life guards are a safety note. Anyway, I would highly recommend you go!

I’m giving this 5 stars purely for atmosphere! The swimming pool itself is great. Small, clean and with a variable temperature which makes a little game of russian roulette every time you get in! The changing rooms are pretty dire and there is no heating, which means they are cold in the winter. In addition the showers are either freezing or boiling! The gym is adorable — one piece of each sort of machine — if there’s 5 people in there, it’s full!
But that entirely misses the point. It is a community-​run facility, and an absolute gem. There are no egos, everyone and anyone is welcome, and they have great offers like Swim For A Quid at various times throughout the week.
There are kids swimming lessons, a swimming team, aqua aerobics, a sub-​aqua club, inflatables and everything else you could ask a swimming pool to do.
A charming little place, I love it!
