Probably the best pub in Broomhill, owned by the university. Has a friendly crowd and a good mix of ages. It’s got some good beers and they let you take food in from the chippies near by. Hurrah!

Broomhill is a popular area with students and many of the pubs are busy as a result, during term-time at least. The Fox and Duck is one of the suburb’s better pubs — it has one large room that is comfortable and quite modern. There are quiz machines and a bandit as well as a flat screen TV, but these don’t dominate the room. This pub has a good selection of real ales on hand pump — including the reliable John Smith’s Magnet — and also some local beers. It would benefit from a decent imported lager. Prices are cheap by local standards.

The Fox and Duck public house can be found on Fulwood road in Broomhill, Sheffield. The Sheffield University, Student Union owned pub is an ideal to pop into for much whilst out shopping, on your lunch break from work or indeed between lectures. What is unique about the lunchtime menu, is that you provide it yourself. The pub offers delightful crockery(chilli patterned), cutlery, napkins etc but don’t actually sell food. The many surrounding deli’s, take aways and supermarkets offer more than enough choice for any taste. Just buy a drink at the bar and you are more than welcome to enjoy your own food.
