Hollywood Bowl

This is situated on the valley centretainment park in sheffield.
Just a stones throw Meadowhall and the Sheffield Arena.
It is a bog standard bowling franchise offering various offers and deals depending upon the time of day and also the
school calendar ie they offer cheaper games just after school closing times and in school holidays
aswell as discounts for students.
They offer themed bowling nights such as the recent halloween event where they had glow in the dark areas.
assistance ramps are available for children or the less confident bowler.
Parking facilities vary depending upon the time of day due it being a shared car park with many other venues.
The venue also offers a bar. café and a busy arcade area including the latest dance games and a pool table.
Disabled acces is good to the building and all inside areas though unfortunately the staff arent alwaysdisabled friendly
or helpful.
They offer fast food which is not always the warmest or freshest and the service is not very often efficient.
Hollywood bowl offer the usual childrens party packages with games food and the use of a ‘party room’ there is also a bar
pretty much what you would expect from a bowling alley just a shame the staff arent as friendly or helpful as they were at the superbowl a few years ago

Been to this place loads of times over the last few years.
It’s always fairly busy, especially at weekends when its a good idea to ring and book well in advance of when you want to bowl.
It’s easy to get to via public transport, with bus and tram stops surrounding the area. It shares the carpark with the rest of Centretainment and therefore you can struggle to park easily at busy times.
The bowling part of the venue is good, with fairly up to date technology and always well stocked with different size balls. If you do end up having a problem with your lane though, it can take a while to get it resolved.
Along with the bowling, theres an Arcade, bar and café area. These are all fairly average, but popular.
It’s about what you’d expect from an average bowling venue, though could do with sprucing up slightly in the toilet areas.

A great place to go whether you’re with family or friends you’ll always have a good time. There is a bar and arcade to entertain you if you have to wait for a lane. The bowling is always fun and plenty of room to sit around with mates. The service to the lanes is good, though if you have a problem with your lane the staff do often seem very reluctant and unsure about helping out.

A nice night out is the Hollywood bowl. Being part of the centertainment area there is a decent amount of parking with a larger area round the back of the cinema. Easy accessible from the tram also.
Good disabled access too for wheelchair users.
The food is nice and a great place for kids party’s which the arcade in there too. Also a bar for the parents if the kids get too much!

great place to have a party. if u enjoy bowling u will love hollywood bowl. at night, they turn on the lights for the lanes. blue neon lights.
theres also an arcade available. mini bar. and a food area.
in the arcade u can win vouchers where u claim the prize which is often a free game of bowling. good if u win the vouchers with just 10pence.

While the bowling aspect of Hollywood Bowl is fine, there are a number of things that could be improved, mainly to do with the staff.
The attitudes of the servers is often at best indifferent and at worst, rude. I’ve worked in food service jobs before and while they might not be the most glamorous, you’re being paid to be nice to people. If you don’t like it, nobody is forcing you to work there.
We’ve also had a problem with the bar before as they were serving flat coke. They changed it in a huff and wouldn’t believe it was still flat when we tried it. We eventually had to give up and drink it. When you’re being charged over the odds for some post-​mix coke (which costs them about 20p per gallon) you at least expect some fizz in it.
I think they are very used to serving people who are easily pleased.

My kids love coming here the prices are quite good and the food is okay. It is a good night out even for the adults with the bar and drinks being a decent price.

Great environment! theres the arcade, bar, food area, vender machines (incase you just want a nibble) … then the obvious bowling! i would say its fantastic for parties!
